For me, Morrison's Doom Patrol is one of my favorite runs on any comic ever. It made me like DP, when before I couldn't have cared less.
Writers before artists.
Artists before concepts.
Concepts before characters.
I read some of the single issues, picked up remnants of the run from beginning to middle. Talk about odd stuff. I need to give this and Invisibles a second try.
I get Flex Mentallo, and the Filfth at least disturbs me, but Doom Patrol and the Invisibles, confuse me without engaging me to read more. I want to though.
Comixology has finally awarded the opportunity to read ths series. #34 is my all time favorite comic book ever. I'm not even sure i had a favorite behorehand.
Morrison's DP was great. Hard and fast, so full, and so unflinchingly funny and traumatic all at once all the damned time.
And, it helped shape up Doom Patrols, which was a fantastic book.
