I'll weigh in..
Jason Henderson and I are doing a manga for Tokyopop that should be out later in the year. Psy-Comm is the name of it and we are working with some really talented artists, our penciler, Shane has been with us since the start of the project and he ROCKS! We did an article for CBR about it a while back, and plan on doing more promotion once it gets closer to coming out (still not officially solicited yet).

and a non-cbr link:

We're going to try to hit as many cons as we can in the future. I'm a manga fan first and foremost (hence the column here on CBR), and Tokyopop has been cool to us. We are excited to get our manga out and have people read it.
There are also two other teams here in Austin:
Dark Moon Diary

Well, not a manga per se, but....
FREE Anime Convention in Atlanta, GA!!
Did that get anyone's attention? :D
Momocon
http://www.onegaistudios.com/momo/
Held at Georgia Tech's Student Center.
March 26-27.
Please come, it's not like they're charging anything to get in! Webcomic artists, companies, dealers room, larping, video game tourneys (Katamari Damacy tournament!), cosplaying galore, cosplay cafe for that matter, panel discussions, computer guys looking for new employees....
Shoot, we have UGA guys on panels, and anyone in Georgia should know how well UGA and GT normally get along.
Please? They're my kohai, and they put a great show together!

I've got a cool manga called GROUNDED ANGEL that's up to page 12. Its current home is Komikwerks (www.komikwerks.com) but myself and artist Vivi Erlanita are looking for a print deal. I may put together the lengthy submission package for Tokyopop, as they seem receptive to quality American manga creators.

The Word Factory is developing a new style of manga over here in Europe, called The Sky Boys – a blend of shojo and shonen, with a bit of European Old School thrown in.
Like "normal" manga, you have to read from right to left, with each double spread serving as the widescreen background for all the scenes (yes, when writing and designing the look, I thought, why not take the widescreen concept to its logical conclusion?)
The complete first chapter can be looked at (and downloaded) at
http://word-factory.com/SkyBoys_Intro2.html
together with modelsheets, concept etc. etc. pp.
NICE!!! I dig steampunk stuff. In fact, Humanoids is still looking for an artist for mine and Jason's other book, Clockwerx. It won't be manga formatted, but the story if definitely manga and anime influenced and set us off on the path to where we are now, with a Tokyopop deal. I hope that it comes out this year, but we are still waiting on the right artist. It might even be out in Europe before the US....
I dig the Sky Boys though, you should be proud!
We're still looking for a print deal on this one :)
LOL
If you like that, check out

That concept fuses manga structure with an American-styled art, and might (or might not LOL) be picked up soonish.
Cheers,
Thomas

Hello everyone,
So this is the place for shameless plugs, eh? Perfect! ;)
I do a webcomic called "The Stiff", which is a high school romantic comedy-slash-horror comic. Some people tell me it's uncategorizable. I think of it as sort of a cross between VIDEO GIRL AI, Junji Ito and BLACK HOLE.
Anyway, my comic The Stiff (http://www.girlamatic.com/series.php...f&view=current) just got nominated for a 2005 Web Cartoonist's Choice Award(http://www.ccawards.com/2005.htm) for "Best Dramatic Comic."
But--! The really good thing is that I managed to convince my site host to make my comic's archives (http://www.girlamatic.com/toc.php?name=thestiff), which you normally have to pay money to look at, free until July 11! So if the idea of a romantic comedy manga with (possible) zombies sounds interesting to you, please check it out. I'm up to page 200 and I think it will be about 800 pages when finished.
Anyway, if you like, please check out The Stiff (http://www.girlamatic.com/series.php...f&view=current) at www.girlamatic.com, or The Stiff website.(http://www.sonic.net/~jason/stiff/)
That's all. Thank you for reading!
Jason

Hi, I'm new here but I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I,ve written the first two issues of a sci-fi/action comic/manga series that I'm hoping to submit to darkhorse. I'm in dire need of a good artist and realywould like some tips on submitting material to publishers.
thanks
Kain, you might ask on the Indie or Neverending Board. However, I also see that you're in Savannah, GA. Try hooking up with one of the students at the Savannah College for Art and Design. They have a sequential art program.
The style seems alot like Katsuhiro Ôtomo, in a good way. Interesting.Originally Posted by chojinlocke

If you want to preview more of the book the new Tpop site for previews is here:

Hope you dig it! I am a huge fan (hence the column) and We put a lot of hard work into the book. Book 2 should rock even harder!
Take care,

BTW, cool avatar Vetrox. I am a Berserk fan as well.
