Quick question about ABC's Top Ten comics
Not sure where to ask this question so I'll try here. Last year, I started to collect the ABC line. There is a hardcover called Top Ten Fourty Niners, which is kind of pricey. Does anyone know if this is an original story or if it reprints previous issues of Top Ten? It looks like it's an original story but I don't want to chance it and waste the money if it just reprints Top Ten past issues.
Also, I notice that there was a graphic novel printed on 2006 (the hardcover was printed on 2005). I'm assuming the 2006 is the exact same as the 2005 hardcover?
Here is a link to the issue I'm asking about, from comics.org website.
Hi shooshoomanjoe. The Top Ten: The Forty-Niners graphic novel is a prequel to the Top Ten series as we know it, and so not a reprint. It looks back at the story of Steve Traynor. I really looked forward to this being released when it came out due to how much I liked Top Ten, and because Gene Ha handled the artwork. I thought it was a great book. And a quick search on Amazon shows that you could pick this up in hardcover or trade paperback for less than $20 total. Hope you enjoy it.
Like jestercrimson said, it's its own thing.
There will be an absolute edition coming out in June which will collect Moore's whole run if you're interested.
And Smax the Barbarian, a fun spinoff mini Moore did with Zander Cannon.
