Doubt he will make the megabucks like The Rock but I still say he's fairing better than other WWE stars who have done movies.

I'm happy he's proven himself wrong.
I like Batista as a wrestler and an actor, depending on the role, but personality wise he can come off as a douchebag.

I'm really not happy about this. When I was obsessed with WWE I wasn't a fan, he was like the big guy who would kick the heels ass but not an icon.

If they were going to pick a wrestler they might as well picked the Rock....

What "comedian" are you referring to? Chris Pratt is an established actor who's done drama and comedy.

I'm sure that regardless of the price range he'd jump at the opportunity to be in a Marvel film

I doubt that. It's one thing for an actor to appear in a small, independent low budget "prestige" film for a reduced rate, but no actor of status is going to take a pay cut to take a major role in an expensive SFX-filled sic-fi action blockbuster. This is his career not a hobby.

ah..I never heard of him... a friend told he's a comedian or rather a comedic actor.

But it promises a sequel doesn't it? Toy Revenue, merch, etc all much greater than what he gets for being in fast and the furios.
Rock understands the other angles i would think.

There are no "promises." It's an expensive FX-laden movie based on a little known comic book property. And it can't even count on riding the coat-tails of the Avengers because Marvel has alreay said that GotG will be more of it's own thing and less directly connected to the other films.

It could well end up being a big hit, but there's certainly no guarantee of it. There never is. And if anything, its chances of being a hit would be better with Johnson in it, which would actually decrease his motivation to take less money to do it, because the film needs him much more than he needs the film.

Let's face it Batista is not a big-time actor, he's just beginning so he'll take what they give him just for the chance to be in a Marvel flick. The part won't be much different than what he did in Iron Fist but oh well.

Isn't that basically exactly what Robert Downey Junior did when he took the role in Iron Man?

Yes, but Downy didn't exactly have a lot of options at that point in his career. Iron Man was his third chance.

No, because at the time he took on Iron Man, Downey wasn't really an actor with much status. His career was basically in the toilet. He wasn't in a position to be overly discriminating about what jobs he took on.
