If Batista brings half the intensity he has in the WWE as he does to GotG, we're going to have an awesome Drax.

The last bit of his wrestling run, when he was amazing douchebag heel, who got 20k people to boo him for wearing a pink shirt with the collar turned up, was amazing.

If only the majority of his WWE career were like that

Let's be honest, he probably wasn't going to have that many lines anyway AND he has the right face for the part.

I'm sure he's not going to have that much of a speaking role.

I hope the movie doesn't involve the heroes spending the majority of the film on earth. Take the space opera approach and have the movie be in space

I think that this is good casting news. Watch THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS to see why Batista is a great choice to play Drax. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that one of the reasons why Batista was cast as Drax was because of his portrayal as Brass Body in TMWTIF (the other reason being that he was cheaper then the other actors up for the part).

More the latter but I can also see a little bit of the former. He was one of the few good things about that movie.

There is a tale of 2 Batista's in the WWE. The heel Batista was very damn good his final year in the WWE. The face Batista is a guy who would get winded walking to the ring at one point due to being so big.

    Its a nice signing .

Directed by James Gunn, the space adventure is also expected to include Groot, the extraterrestrial tree monster; Rocket Raccoon, the fearless genetically altered raccoon; and Gamora, the most dangerous woman in the universe.
Seriously? Rocket's an alien, not a genetically altered raccoon.

I had no interest in this movie before, BUT NOW... I still have no interest in seeing this movie. Never was a fan of Batista, even during his last heel run that others seemed to like.

Usually, i'd be extremely nervous about signing a pro wrestler, but in the case of Drax it probably works (plus he hardly looks like he'll need any make-up) Just hope his dialog isn't toooo bad...

unless they've changed it since, nope:
