    Very nice interview.
Unfortunately at the bottom...... "check back tomorrow for Part 2 of CBR's Superman writer's roundtable!"

I'm not sure what exactly "exploring different nuances of the same character" means, but one thing you can NOT do if you're going to pretend that all four writers are using the same Superman is have him talk differently in the different books. In James Robinson's first issue writing Superman, his dialogue was horrible. It sounded a lot more like Jack Knight than Superman. Fortunately, Robinson learned from his mistake (and the uproar that it engendered) and his books got better quickly.

Given how screwed up DC has been lately (I mean really--"Superman Unchained"?? I'd be embarrassed to be seen in public reading anything with a title that stupid), I have no confidence that anyone will exercise that kind of quality control. But hope is a virtue, so we'll have to wait and see...

Pretty much with you on your statement. I still find the armor look very stupid, makes him look like a pussy.

That interview was amazing. So excited to have 4 amazing Superman books to read come June. I mean, all of these guys get the character and that is just wonderful. I am also glad to see all of these guys working together to make sure we are reading the same Superman. It's like Superman is finally getting the same treatment Batman got when the new 52 first started with Superman starting in 4 book and having 2 other Super-family books.

As opposed to the bright colored tights who, as it is well known, are the very definition of manliness.
    Or not.

I love jeans and tee Superman and was disappointed we left him behind so quickly because there was such a real rawness but refreshing honesty in the brashness to him. I like what Greg Pak says. I think he sounded the most interesting. I honestly don't care for any homage to any Reeve version because it is 2013, not the 70ties and hope they all write the guy as he would evolve now not then. Hope he gets to keep some swagger and his some ballsy attitude. I can't stand a superman who stands around and apologizes and does not know what to do.

Sounds good to me. I just think Snyder might have used the wrong word choice when he talked about writing 'different" Supermen. I don't think that's what he means. I think what he was getting at is that depending on when he's written, the past like Batman/Superman, or the present like the other three titles, there's room write some differences to the same guy because of their different times in his growth as a hero.

While I'm likely to pick up any or all of these books, they don't really sound like distinct stories. Like he's being put in generic situations and being the same guy in each.

I'm thankful. Pak wasted half the time going on about Harry Potter.
"Superman, are you really gonna let those drug dealers get away?"
"You bet! See, I'm right HERE, while they... are over THERE."

Maybe in part two, one of the writers will talk about Wonder Woman or Lois Lane. That should fix the low post count issue...

Look at that, we got 3 posts in the last minute.

So as a fan I'm just absolutely hyped for all of these books (Lobdell post X-over!!). To be honest everyone said literally everything that I wanted to hear!!! I can't express over text just how pumped I am for this and I don't care who know's it!!!

I can't even decide who I liked more!! Snyder for his pitch perfect run down of a Superman who I would want to read and he's in keeping with the established version!! Pak for the perfect comparison to Harry Potter or his whole rundown of his Superman!!! Damn near everything that Diggle said!!!! Lobdell breaking down the idea of looking at the character from different perspectives but still living inside the new 52 (this SOOO MUCH THIS!!).

I can finally say it: Mr. Snyder, I will take that Superman book of yours after all

I'm looking forward to Pak's book. That and the classic-style (even the real costume, red briefs and all!) Adventures of Superman will have to do for me for now.

I'm excited for Snyder, Pak, and Diggle. Not so much for Lobdell, but I have a feeling when the movies does amazing box office, he will be taken off the book and a more top tier writer moved it.
