As someone who has read the comics, after viewing this trailer, I just realized exactly what it is that I didn't care for in the film: it's too bright and shiny and sanitized.

There's nothing gritty. The books are gritty and dirty and down to earth, considering the source material.

The films feel like they apply a little bit of Joel Schumacher Batman to the formula.

I loved the 1st film. Quite a few things shouldn't be seen in the films and I like they kept a lot of the scenes I remember in Kick-Ass 2 there. I really smiled at a lot of it. Also they aged Hit-Girl to fit the movie since the actress is 3-4 years older now.

    Gonna be fun folks.

The trailer's great. Looking forward to this movie.

@Squashua: The first movie was less gritty than the comic too, but that didn't stop it from being a fun movie. The comic is its own thing. I'm not expecting the movie to be 100% identical, as adaptations rarely tend to be anyway. Enjoy it for what it is, a sequel to one of the most enjoyable, underrated superhero pics of the past decade. Better yet. Just don't judge it before you even see it.

Couldn't agree more! And I'm glad they aged Hit Girl, even if it isn't true to the comics.

That's a pretty good point, but it still looks at least like an entertaining R-rated superhero film.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

....I know it's childish, but the little girl beating the crap out of people and talking like a dude in a bar hasn't stopped being funny to me.

All I truly care about is they do the ONE thing in the comic that was awesome: "Avengers Motherfucking Assemble!" http://oi44.tinypic.com/2wptstg.jpg

This and when Mindy decided to fight again were the two best moments in the comic and two of my favourite in all comics. The movie is clearly toned down which is expected but I just hope its not toned down too much. I mean katies story wont happen because it just wont but I mean the riot seems to be in a warehouse which is pretty poor. Obviously this is only a trailer and I might not be getting the full picture but still.

    A potential spoiler.....

    spoilers:
In a couple of pics that hit online a few months ago a scene of Mindy kissing Dave was put out. Chloe Moretz has said there is gonna be a romantic sub-plot in this movie which seems to be pushing the 2 characters together a lot closer than just kicking ass together as heroes.
    end of spoilers

Ya I didn't really liked how they took out the gritty and down to earth realism from the first movie and added the humor either. It made the movie feel a bit like Superbad in a way. However I still enjoyed the movie and believe it is highly underrated.

As for this trailer it looks good but I am bothered by some of the little things. Like how in the comics when Hit Girl is shooting the guys in the truck she says "Game on motherfuckers" but in the trailer she said cocksuckers. The final fight between Forever Justice and the Toxic Megacunts looks like it is going to happen inside the warehouse instead of the city, I don't like Hit Girls new costume and kind of don't like Kick Ass's new one either but it does look kind of cool, Hit Girl being 15 is bothering me but it is not like she could pull off playing a 10 year old now, and finally is Mother Russia white?

All in all though despite all those little flaws I can't wait to see this and will be at the first showing where not a lot of people will be able to make it. I don't like watching comic movies with a huge crowd because too many of them are not comic readers and it bugs me lol.
