Good to hear the direction of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I wonder what the majority reaction would be if Ruffalo were to make an appearance on S.H.I.E.L.D. only as Banner. Personally I wouldn't have a problem with it because he made Banner so likeable in The Avengers.

    I'd love it.

What's the timeline for this show with regard to the movies? Was thinking maybe a "Fugitive" (Coulson/Banner) storyline could be happen. Sure the idea has already been done but I think it would still work.

Have Banner on the run as a fugitive and Coulson chasing him. I get that. Good idea DennyK! People would eventually expect Hulk though. Play up the mystery of it. Have him Hulk-up offscreen and see the reprecussions of Hulk (like damaged areas) as an aftermath thing with Coulson always one-step behind....or ya know just hire Lou Ferrigno who should come cheap. And digitally color him as Hulk. I think he's still really built. You can't expect them to pay movie-type money for Hulk on TV so they'd have to do the cheap thing like this.

That is actually very clever.......maybe Rulk could then start to shift in.

I like the idea of seeing the aftermath of a Hulk encounter, the cost of having Hulk appear in a TV episode would be prohibitive though, and I just can't get behind a Ferrigno/Hulk.

I see no reason why not.

Why not Ferrigno Hulk? I'm afraid it come off to jokey, and while I realize the show will have humorous moments, I don't want the look of one of the best/most important characters to be made sport of. I know a lot of people have a soft spot for the old Hulk TV series, but IMO it hasn't aged well at all.

Okay, now those gifs probably aren't fair to use, but, c'mon

This is the biggest hurdle any new Hulk movie needs to get over. The reason past Hulk movies don't resonate as well with audiences is because the protagonist is actively working against what the audience wants to see. We want to see Banner get all Hulked out and go on a rampage. But the movies were about him trying to stop being the Hulk and potentially cure himself. The audience has to want to see the protagonist win. And nobody wants to see Banner cured.

Oh my God, that clip of the Hulk throwing a bear off a cliff is so deadly awesome, I want it projected on my tombstone somehow forever.

Having Banner on the show would be pretty neat. Mainly because Ruffalo made Banner such a likable character, plus on top of that you'd always have the threat of Hulk looming.
Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...

I'd like to see them focus on lesser known characters and only make mention of the movie heroes. And of course both Stan Lee and Ferrigno should have cameos. I wouldn't mind Lou being a regular on the show. Could he be a security guard? A relative of Bruce Banner? A villain? Oh... wait... oh oh crud... I just nerdgasmed all over the place.
