Wake me up when it's over...
Yes and no. I appreciate Dark Horse's contributions to the Star Wars universe, and there's been some genuinely compelling stories such as KotoR, Legacy, the new Brian Wood series, and the groundbreaking Dark Empire. But the material always plays second fiddle to what's happening in all other forms of Star Wars media (particularly the novels in the years where there have been no movies or TV series) and the sales are seldom comparable to the top Marvel and DC titles. Is there a reason Star Wars shouldn't be right up there every month, considering the overlap between fan bases? There are a lot of reasons I think that Disney would be smart not to fix the machine that is already working.
If the license does go over to Marvel, I'd love to see that addressed and get stories where people who regularly buy the new novels feel compelled to grab the comics as well.
I've always seen DH seems to do 'side stories' that don't deal that much with the main movie characters. There are some exceptions though such as Dark Empire.
