I hope they just scrap the story altogether.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.
Meet our wonderful new world where people justify acting dickish in retaliation for dickishness. Nice lesson for tolerance. Say what? It has nothing to do with tolerance? My mistake.
And never again will I buy a comic drawn by Chris Sprouse.

"'Kirby got a shitty contract too, so get over it' isn't a great tagline."

If this author had used the same rhetoric against a racial minority, this wouldn't be a debate over matters of "opinion." Yes, he has a right to free speech. No, he doesn't have freedom from consequence.
My comic collection. Go on, have a look. You know you want to.
Going Green for St Patrick's Weekend!
He did NOT use that retoric against a racial minority, he opposes gay marriage. Are you telling me that we have come to the point in this country where if you have a moral objection to gay marriage you are to be shunned by society and not allowed to work simply because your point of view is different?
Yes. If you do not share similar views with those who are either self-appointed pervayors of current intellectual thinking, those who are decision makers or anyone in a position of power your view will no only be dissmissed by branded and hateful. I have no issue with same-sex marriage, I believe Mr. Spruce is entitled to follow his own conscience, and likewise I think Mr. Card can hold his views as well and neither should have to suffer ridicule becasue of it.
I don't see how that's any different.
An opinion is one thing, but he is an active hatemonger. He's on the board of directors of the National Board of Marriage, which exists solely to prevent the legalization of marriage equality. He frequently attempts to baselessly and directly link rape and pedophilia with homosexuality, both in real life and his fiction. This isn't about a point of view, and no one's saying he can't work. This is about him being a tactless supporter of hate, and people wishing not to support that. Are you telling me that we have come to the point in this country where if you have a moral objection to gay marriage you are to be shunned by society and not allowed to work simply because your point of view is different?
Plus, he's kind of a turd.

OSC wants to imprison or brainwash gays. It's not just about gay marriage.
