Does Peter still has confidence problems in battles?

Maybe thats why everyone is taking a liking to Octavious. Peter hasn't learned to be live in himself and always uses his responsibilties to cope his fear. Does that mean Peter will eventually learn to take more leaps in confidence in the future?
