I've always loved Red Sonja. I've been reading Dynamite's trades. This news is just amazing. Also, anybody hear any latest news on Rick Remender's Devolution?
Thirded!
It's been too long.

I found this part idiotic:
Roberson said that it’s been interesting to see fan reaction to the series. For example, when the Shadow beats up Kato in the story, readers really seemed to get upset even though the Shadow is clearly more powerful. Wagner said, “Well, in that group, he’s like Superman.”
Total BS, based on previous versions of the characters there was no reason the Shadow should be a better martial artist than Kato. His pulps were more mystery than action. He was far from the best fighter of the pulp heroes. if he had hypnotized Kato or disappeared that would have been fine. But to beat him at his own game, not so much.

Much as I love the Shadow, gotta totally agree.
And fourth vote for more Project Superpowers. That was all kinds of great I wasn't expecting !
I've been reading a lot more Dynamite books lately. Maybe it's because the quality from Marvel has been inconsistent lately, but I like what Dynamite has been doing lately. Looking forward to seeing more in 2013!![]()

If you're going to use that logic, Kato wasn't a kung fu master either originally. He drove the car which he helped build and had things explained to him. He was Green Hornet's back-up, not his muscle. In the comics of the time, he didn't even appear in all the stories. He wasn't that important. That dynamic changed when Bruce Lee was cast as Kato in the 1960s tv show and even then, he was fought to a draw by Robin. I disagree that the Shadow is Superman of the group. That's one of the big problems with "Masks". The characters should for the most part be equal, a group of peers. There shouldn't be a "Superman" of the group.
Made me wonder about Waid's line on his Green Hornet series being true to the Radio Continuity. Somehow, I truly doubt that we're going to see an accurate to the OTR version of Kato but continue with the one filtered through Bruce Lee.
Such a silly thing to complain about, these are comic books and not great american novels and are subject to silly flaws like this......big deal. I would expect The Shadow to get the rub over Kato since he's the bigger of the two characters, I'm sure if this was a skills challenge with a referee than Kato maybe would win on points, but this isn't and it's just a comic.
Anyhow, I was kind of hoping for some word about Project Superpowers volume 3 since Nick mentioned in the forums a while back that a possible February announcement could be made, but yet we got nothing. Bummer.
Gail Simone on Red Sonja is fantastic news! I have been reading the back issues recently. I got a bunch off of Comixology and have been finding it is a pretty good adventure story. Having Gail Simone handling it will be cool as she will put her stamp on it and maybe attract her fan base. While I haven't read everything she has done, I love the stuff I do read. Her characters just come alive to me.
I also like that Dynamite continues to push for a higher profile. Between Image, Dark Horse and Dynamite, there are a lot of great books that don't get the exposure of the big two.

I know that Gail made me a fan with her Batgirl work, and this is bringing me in to try Red Sonja this July. I really like that while both characters are red heads Batgirl is a more tentative and compassionate character, while Red Sonja can be savage and is almost always decisive. It will be fun to read two characters by the same writer who are fairly diametrically opposed personality wise on a monthly basis.
Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest
Interesting news on Red Sonja, I might check the book out once Simone takes over.
