Cool to see Ghost getting an ongoing. I enjoyed the mini.
Will probably check out a few of these.

Cant help but feel i might prefer they stick to a Hellboy-esque method of numerous mini-series releases.
Dark Horse dont have that great a record for being ablt to sustain many ongoings.

I wonder how much this has to do with the fact that SW might move to Marvel.

The Dark Horse Super hero universe is really shaping up! Captain Midnight and The Black Beetle are awesome!

Can't really call unconfirmed rumors and speculation fact, but Dark Horse had a line of superhero comics before and it was way past time for another one, IMO. Heck, I've been waiting years for Ghost to come back as an ongoing, so I'm thrilled the superheroes have returned to Dark Horse.

Here's the panel in question for those who'd like to see it.

The Ghost ongoing starts with a new #1. I suspect X is just going to get the mini aspect taken away and just do straight numbering. Same with Captain Midnight.

Super!!! I am frankly happy that Dark Horse is relaunching its Heroes line. I am so enough of the so "classic" supes books from the other publishers (except Boom!). I was happy with the new Valiant Universe but now, I am like bored to read them.

I only know Ghost from her name, years and years ago (I AM NOT OLD!!!! CREEPS!!!). And I was seriously hooked by the short published into DHP. Unfortunately, I have not ordered the mini... I am cursed...

    For X, idem.

They were names lied to expensive comic books at this time and the only ones I was able to buy were the Marvel's ones.

Now, that I have lesser money ( ) but a with great bough power (thanks to the US Dollar to take its holidays against the future #1 worldwide currency, the Euro - it's not from me but from a lot of financial analysts with among them, a serious lot of American specialists...), I am enjoyed to, at last, buy these new comic books from a very but proud old indie publisher!!!!!

The best in that??? I am kicking the balls of the big twos and half (the formerly big twos and Image Comics). No money for ever to them!!!!!

    POWER TO THE 99%!!!!!!
    2000 AD of course!!!

I wonder why Spyboy isn't apart of this relaunch, he was quite popular a few years ago? And would fit in nicely with some of these books.

Dark Horse has a whole panel devoted to Star Wars comics at ECCC. As might be expected, the first question was about what happens with Dark Horse loses Star Wars to Marvel and they more or less shot down those rumours for the time being. And yes, it's great to see Dark Horse dusting off their superhero properties. I was always a big fan of X and it's nice to have him back.

IS IT SAD or what? Lemme tell you something people, I tried, I really tried, but I couldn't wait until the last issue of the Ghost: ITSAD story arc came out. Sorry to dissapoint you guys & gals but the latest "resurrection" of Ghost is a complete, and I stress the word COMPLETE failure. A complete dissapointment. Period. As much as I had hoped Ghost to return, it's of no use re-launching a decade-long "popular-back-then-status" character only to do it in such a MEDIOCRE fashion! I wish I had the power to turn back time. More than that, I wish I had the power to ghost jump every damned Ghost: ITSAD issue in existence inside Cameron Nemo's dimension!!! The story lacks and the art is terribly awful to say the least. It's an utter lack of respect to the artists that have worked on the title in the past. Ultimately, it's a total disgrace to the independent company I so dearly loved and respected, until now... Customer Service won't even respond general inquires for a while now. I can understand how desparate they may be by the Disney-Lucasfilm deal but DON'T JUST TRY TESTING THE WATERS FOR TESTING THE WATER'S SAKE for Scythe's sake!!! I appoint the editor as the sole responsible for the present lack of quality in the Ghost title. Kelly Sue DeConnick, with all due respect, you're waaay outta your league here. Mr. Noto, get your craft right first, then try again. You just ruined my favorite comic book female character ever. Thanks for reading. IT IS THAT SAD.

    DHC editorial staff,
YOU BETTER GET YOUR ACT RIGHT, 'CAUSE ALEX ROSS' COVERS NO WON'T DO. Nuff said.

Care to explain what was wrong with it?

I like the new Ghost series. My only real complaint is with her new costume--a hooded evening gown with matching wrestler boots? DeConnick might not have been a fan of her original outfit (she called it "dated" in one interview), but I do think it was better than what she currently has. Other than that, I find the story & characters engaging and the art decent.

In a way, though, this mini reminds me a lot of the early issues of the original Ghost series in which we don't know why or how Elisa Cameron got her powers and why she is so angry and quick to kill.

It's in there... It's an implicit thing IF YOU ONLY KNEW about the quality of Ghost comic books from the past better... Which obviously, you don't.

So you think that the new series isn't as good as the original, that's fine.

I use a poor choice of words, what I meant was, can you further explain why you think the art is terrible and why you find the writing lacking.

Also did you hate the X reboot?
