Boy, the fist 4 and the World's Finest really grabbed me. Some powerful imagery there. Great job by the artists. Though the Teen Titans cover struck me as kind of creepy, like Tim was happy about it all.

Seriously! That's either a really badly drawn face or this issue is going to be messed up. The Batman and Batman & Robin covers are aces though.

Man I REALLY REALLY HOPE Kyle Higgins is bringing it for this Nightwing issue. I know the dude for whatever reason has just abandoned the Dick and Damian element and that's part of the reason I do not read that title. But Damian's death should be something huge for Nightwing and I would love love love to see Higgins take it to the next level here and deliver something special.

But most of all I really hope that Morrison gets to write some of Dick reacting to this. I miss his take on Dick Grayson so much

His voice for Damian was solid enough last issue, but he's never really made me feel an issue in the gut, so I don't expect that to start now.

A real shame, because this should be as close to breaking Richard as we've ever seen, if only to mirror the heartbreak of fans.

Those aren't variants, they're the real covers. The ones we were shown in March all had "not final cover" listed under them at DC's blog.

I dropped Nightwing a long time ago and haven't bought Detective at all in the New 52, but I might get these #18s.

I also kinda get a feeling that a lot of DC Creators didn't like Damian or want any part of him.

I feel that the title is misleading. Half of those weren't marked in the article as variants. And I really hope they aren't.

i'd say in tim and jason's cases; its probably whatever joker did to them + the ugliness between them and damian (which had healed a fair bit, but still) being twisted.
