Default Apple, Facebook, Intel And Others To Support Gay Marriage At Supreme Court

Article title: Apple Joins Cadre Of 60 US Companies Including Facebook, Intel And Others To Support Gay Marriage At Supreme Court

I'm pretty blown away by the fact that these companies, Apple Facebook, Intel, etc, have chosen to take a stand at all, regarding same sex unions. It's one of those things that I would have said won't happen ever, or just in my lifetime.

    I will be as well!

For those believe that corporations are evil by-definition, how does this fit into your worldview?

I don't think there is anybody here who has a world view that is that black and white, at least not on the liberal side. I mean, we all know that there are corporations that only do fair trade projects, for example.

So I would guess there is nobody who has to fit this into their worldview.
    My blog.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

On a similar note, Electronic Arts to hold gay rights conference. The same EA everyone hates for micro transactions and bad Mass Effect endings.

I've always said EA have the right attitude to this topic. They don't really care about gay rights - they just want an excuse for hot lesbian action. And if that makes them look like the good guys, then all the better.

    I don't like this.

Not because of anything to do with gay rights but because I believe corporations should not get involved in political matters ( this includes corporations who oppose same sex marriage)

Awesome. Good on all those companies who are taking a stand for same sex unions. Anti-gay laws in this day and age is beyond stupid.

That was Bioware's fault, not EA's. And honestly if you're still bitching about something the company fixed within 5 months, you're a lost cause.

I regularly listen to podcasts which posit that corporations are, by their very nature, evil. More specially, they address this common enough philosophy that has to do with the responsibilities of compare entities, any alleged personhood, and their place in the national and global community.

I believe that a reflection of this is Google's "Don't be evil" corporate motto.
