My favorite ability of Geoff Johns is to create sympathetic villians
OCEANMASTER!
I found the resolution of this plot to be really off-putting and unrealistic, especially when you compare it to the real world. in the real world, the US is killing innocent civilians all the time (with drones and other weapons of war), yet refuses to be held accountable and excuses these actions as 'collateral damage". Putting aside the rightness or acceptability (or lack thereof) of these practices, the idea that the Atlanteans could not have claimed the same kind of exception for Orm boggles the mind. It is also the case that Orm made his decisions on behalf of his country and at a time when he was leader - it is highly debatable that he would not still enjoy diplomatic protections.
Aquaman was King. He decided unilaterally to hand over his brother Orm to appease America just as he decided to have Vulko imprisoned by Atlantis.

If the US went to major cities like Karachi and Islamabad and arbitrarily went around slaughtering civilians, then maybe you would have a point. But the drones, while very irresponsible and need to be reevaluated indeed, don't deliberately serve to kill civilians, they serve to seek and kill militants.
One flaw with it was the lack of Mera, but overall best DC story since the new 52
I agree with this review. I think this was a solid end to the Throne of Atlantis arc and one that adds a needed personal touch to the resolution. The last few issues have been heavy on action, but this final issue added some more dramatic aspects. I like how Vulko was portrayed, someone who clearly cares about Aurthur but also cares about the future of Atlantis as well. It put Aquaman in a very tough position in the end when he had to turn Orm over. I'm sure that will come back to bite him down the line. The only way this arc could have been better was if Mera had a larger role. But overall, I really liked it and thought it was one of the best Justice League arcs in a long time.

Leaving Mera behind. Fool!
Mera can't go back to Atlantis because of some history she has with it. Ocean Master will remain in prision until he or someone breaks him out I bet. The world doesn't really mistrust the league (the US government on the other hand), but Aquaman due to him fighting some of the members at one point during all of this and probably because his brother attacked the land. My thoughts at least.
