Default REVIEW: The Black Beetle, #2

Francesco Francavilla's "The Black Beetle" #2 proves that the previous issue wasn't a fluke, as it mixes superheroics with hard-boiled crime and high adventure.

I dunno -- you should. It's one of the best indy superhero books I've seen since Dave Stevens original run with the Rocketeer. You can tell this is a labor of love.

Trade wait it then. This latest issue was the best of the bunch though. Francavilla's creating something really special here.

I am also really enjoying this comic. I saw Francavilla's work on Detective COmics with Snyder, and when I saw this I couldn't pass it up. Like the review says, you know the art will be fantastic, but there is a really good story here as well!

I discovered "The Black Beetle" over the weekend, and it was love at first sight. Love the art and the noir feel. http://bit.ly/ZysfrQ
