Default "Vibe" Is DC Comics' Newest Keystone Series

The events and revelations in DC Comics' "Vibe" #1 by Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns and Pete Woods point to an elevated profile for the character in the rebooted DCU while teasing a follow-up conflict with Apokalips.

I admit I was pleasantly surprised with Vibe and the other JL titles yesterday. Now lets just hope this doesn't get cancelled in 6 more issues.

Really great article. My comic book shop owner told me Vibe and JLA were "meh" and that he had read them and determined they were not going to be very relevant in the DCU. He then proceeded to push G.I. Joe #1 and Nova #1 instead. He was clearly very wrong when it came to JLA and Vibe. Glad I got them and even enjoyed both of them.
    Ever-changing Pulls
DC - Batman, Aquaman, JL, JLD, JLA, Green Lantern, Vibe, Flash, Constantine, Earth 2

Interesting that a retailer would try not to sell merchandise to a customer. Seems his opinion as a fan is interfering with his business practice.

One of the reasons why I prefer digital, some comic shops owner are just overweight douches.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.

I am so happy to see that Vibe is being given an important role in the DCU. It just that shows that any character can be written well Thank you again DC!

Your LCS owner is a moron. A title written by Geoff Johns not being relevant to the DCU? What kind of retailer is he?

Sounds like your comic shop owner has a strange way of selling product to costumers to me. I've not had that experience at mine. Even when the the guys that work there didn't like something they've never tried to dissuade people from buying it if they wanted to. I actually like my shop for that reason plus the people who work there are both friendly and knowledgeable.

Anyone who tries to push a book written by Jeph Loeb in the past ten years on aynone else is either an idiot or just a bad person.

That said, I really enjoyed both Vibe and JLA, and really hope the series (Vibe) maintains its consistency, and also lasts for more than a couple years.

Well, at least DC tries. Even if they fail, they at least try.

there is a right way to be opinionated about comics when you run a shop.
I was always honest about what i "personally' enjoyed and what i didn't.
    just one incident:
i remeber the red hulk comic were selling like friggin' hot cakes and i thought it sucked.
i always told my customers that it sold well and people loved it.
i was being honest and practicing good buisness.
it was hard for me to tell a customer that i liked a book when i thought it blew the chow.

To be fair I thought that Nova also had a pretty good first issue.
