I actually don't think having another group of Howling Commando's is an error. There is more than one squad over the years of Navy Seals, Army Rangers, Marine Recon, Bristish SAS etc. It could apply to the Howling Commandos, just a name for an elite task force. Now if Fury said this is the first time that they have ever existed that would be wrong, but I don't think that is the case.

The way Fury said it, it made it sound like he was creating an all-new-never-before-heard-of team, rather than another generation of a team that once existed. But I guess it's all relative. Personally, I never knew there was another Howling Commando's, let alone 3. What is the third one?

There's the one that was in the Gulf War that was transporting Wolverine, the one in Ultimate X-Men, and the new one.
