Alpha should have been sent to Arena.

Still this issue does take a crap on continuity. But its Loeb so not exactly a shocker there.

I just realized that he wrote Spider-Man: Blue, which I really enjoyed - granted, it wasn't a universe-altering action epic. From what I've heard about Ultimatum it seems kinda nihilistic. But I have to read before passing a judgment

Plus it's Alpha, so he'd probably freak out and try to burn them all instantly. Or try to find Arcade and go the way of Red Raven from the second issue.

With his nerfed powers unlikely he forget to put up a SHIELD.

In the Future? Was He not in AvX? I seriously doubt that is the answer. Unless your saying his dad is from the future which seems a stretch but possible.

i really enjoyed this. i know someone have said they thought it was a bit slow paced, i thought it was nice and steady.

On another note. I'm very against random new characters picking up the mantle from their predecessor. Miles pissed me off. Droped the whole ultimate line. I never really got into Nova but I can understand why people would be pissed.

With Nova it doesn't make the most sense. Shouldn't the best candidate take the mantle? Not the next of kin.

The way i read into it, Sam's dad is a drunk and it's more than probable that his stories are far from accurate, so there are bound to be inconsistencies. So i'm not really so sure that there's a continuity problem here, we'll probably find out more in the next issue.
Didn't really enjoy the stereotypical highschool scenes, and would have enjoyed a bit more light to be shed on the whole "black ops nova corps" stuff.
Nice to see Gamora in her usual costume, not the one in the GotG previews.
It was a good read. Hopefully we get more GotG (Bug, Groot,etc), and they're well-written.

it's nice to seem gamora looking how she's meant to look. i'm interested in what they're going to do when gamora has her proper look here (usual uniform, green hair) and mcniven brings out gotg where she's wearing a mass effect uniform and has inexplicably brown hair.

I liked it. Not sure I agree with the complaints about archetypes, though. Peter Parker dealing with bullies does not mean bullies can never, ever appear in another comic again. And when you're clearly the underdog, you're gonna have bullies and haters.

And the original MJ was a Party Girl archetype who probably wouldn't have helped Sam do his dad's job.

Anyway. Good stuff. I hope we get to see more of the Black Domes.
