Hawkeye: Am I missing something?

You kidding? I don't even like Kate Bishop, yet I notice that if you badmouth her, you get HUNDREDS of threats from people.

She's THAT popular.

There was a bigger uproar and threats when Bendis killed Hawkeye. Regardless, any title needs good supporting characters and Hawkeye's happens to be Kate, sensibly, and Fraction and Aja are making it happen.

All that said, the book is quirky and different and not necessarily for everyone. But that's just fine by me. It's been successful enough that it isn't in any danger, so I'll take it. I've been waiting years to say "oh that happened in issue 12 of Hawkeye."

I think I actually had tears in my eyes when I finished issue 8 last night. I'm with you, "Bro", although waiting decades is more appropriate.

Could it be that Fraction/Aja are the main selling point here?

Immortal Iron Fist wasn't THAT long ago. That was another critically acclaimed book by this same creative team.

If you thought THAT series was good, there was a good chance that you thought THIS series would be good to.

Hawkeye also would appeal to the same fans that like Daredevil(another highly acclaimed book about a heroes down to earth adventures).

See, I love this series and didn't much care for that run. I think it's because Fraction writes a great "average Joe" Hawkeye, the everyman. It didn't work with Danny, because he's a billionaire. And the supporting cast of Kate Bishop is what propels it into "brilliant". She's the modern day Robin to his Batman.
