    Default Fantastic Four Reboot

I found this article online: http://collider.com/fantastic-four-r...s-mark-millar/

Those of you who understand rights/distribution, etc, etc, does this mean that there's any chance the FF will now be able to interact at all with the rest of the Marvel Universe? I checked on imdb but there was nothing there other than what's mentioned in the original article. Here a links to a couple of the casting rumors stories I was able to find.

I think Millar's task is to sync up Fox's licensed Marvel properties, i.e. FF and The X-Men, which, IMO, would only serve to crowd and thereby diminish the impacts of Doom and Magneto. A Marvel "universe" that only consists of the Richards Family and circle of friends and mutantkind makes a rather small pond to cram in two such HUGE villainous fish. If they both can't exist in a vast pantheon, both Victor and Erik are better served each being the sole Big Bad in their respective individual universes.

Well the FF and X-Men are thematic opposites really. The first family of the Marvel Universe and the team of outcasts. It could work.

But Millar should be the last person to do anything with the FF. His run was not exactly memorable.

But the two concepts don't even make sense together if they are the only two teams in the universe. Why are the FF celebrities because of their powers while mutants are hated and feared? And the 1st time they team up either the X-Men are redeemed or the FF are branded as traitors to their race. The move in either direction betrays the core concept of the team with the changed perspective.

Those two make a pretty huge ocean actually. Up until around ten years ago the Marvel universe may as well have been the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four are the in to most of Marvels fantastic weirdness.

I don't think Stretchy Man, Rock Man, Human Matchstick and Now-You-See-Her, Now-You-Don't are going to light up the screen like the Avengers.

It's not the powers; it's the family.

It worked with The Incredibles; it can work with the concept The Incredibles... let's say, "paid homage to" . (*cough*rippedoff*cough*)

I like the FF way more than the Avengers... but that's pretty much entirely due to Jack Kirby (I'm not really a superhero fan, but I love great cartoonists like Kirby and Ditko!), so I can see where you're coming from in terms of the bare facts of putting stuff on film.

Sadly, there's just plain no reason to make a FF film since The Incredibles covered the same ground so thoroughly and brilliantly.

Fantastic Four highlights why X-Men don't really work in a shared universe. I mean the difference between Human Torch and a character like say Pyro is what exactly? That the latter was born that way? Is that what makes the distinction between celebrity and outcaste?

Of course not, the Avengers was a team-up movie to a few other characters movies, one of which was Iron Man. It's kind of the sequel to four movies.

Although if they could pull off a good Fantastic Four movie I could see them making tons of money. They're superhero adventurers who have the Marvel universe equivalent of the adventures of Indiana Jones and Jonny Quest, and sometimes they fight huge Kaiju...that should make for an interesting movie.

FF is more of a family team , Avengers are a team of individuals coming together to fight a common evil.

There's no plain reason to make any movie, other then to make money. The Incredibles, while a great movie based off of the FF, only covered one aspect or story of the FF. The FF still have lots of stories that haven't even been touch yet, like the Negative Zone. The FF movies should in sense, be more about sci-fiction adventures then just fantasy super heroes saving the world.

The FANTASTIC FOUR could be a great movie if done right. The last ones they did weren't horrible but the focus of them about how quirky the characters are. They didn't do too bad with that aspect but the actual stories deviated too much from what works in the comics and the tone of the movies were too light. If they reboot they need to do a full reboot, recast, retell their origin (in a quick flashback way), make the tone a bit more serious and stick closer to the comics if they can improve on things.
