Jackie Chan vs Rocky Balboa: Boxing

You know what fight inspired this.

Jackie vs Brad Allen Round 1 - from Gorgeous. Jackie's character's fighting skills have withered due to neglect.

In Round 2 against Brad Allen, Jackie's character trained a bit and got his head put back on straight. And he... learns to give his foes a creepy smile in the midst of getting assaulted.

Since Jackie's apparently versed in boxing, how would you say he fairs in the ring against Balboa?

Could Jackie handle Balboa at Rockys's 1-2? Could he step up to the Rocky from III or IV? Could the 'withered' Jackie from the first fight take down the 'retired' Balboa from Rocky V?

On topic, I can't see Jackie beating Rocky. He's faster and will land all kinds of stuff...that Rocky will basically shrug off, given his granite-like damage soak. Jackie himself comments in the movie about weight classes and so forth, and he's waaaaay down at the bottom of that compared to Rocky.

Eventually Rocky starts tagging him and things go downhill from there.

And that last fight he had was straight up awesome. Probably his best one-on-one fight.

Oh, and I agree. Rocky takes this. Eventually. Dude just has too much soak.

Yeah Jackie cant act, but those fight scenes rocked the house.

How i yearn to go the alternate reality where Jackie and Jet Li did a moviee with Yuen Woo Ping choreographing at the height of their powers. That would have been something to see.

if this was drunken boxing jackie, he's destroy rocky but regular jackie? while he is faster and would land more hits, he doesnt have enough to really put rocky down.

The fact that all Ivan Drago did was give Rocky brain damage but otherwise not a one way trip to a casket has me in the bandwagon that Rocky will soak up anything Jackie gives him.

Taste is a very subjective thing. I didn't like it, but then, I also haven't liked lots of things large groups of people have enjoyed. :)

It was pretty darned fantastic. I preferred his one-on-one's in WhoAmI?, but that's me. Still really good, I admit.
