This is also why all comics should have an opening page with a cast of characters like manga have. That keeps the writer from having to explain in story every issue what the character is, which was how older comics were written (because they did always get new readers).

Legion and avengers books do this,i would love to see that in all the rest,cast of characters and summary of current events would be nice,but i understand they dont want to waste a story page for a recap page.

This is a VERY VERY good idea that needs to come back!! I really loved it in Grant Morrison's JLA back in the 90's. It would really help them hammer in the new personalities and origins of the characters in the new 52.

People seem to make a really big deal out of it in the SB book, though out of the other books have does/done it I hardly hear a peep about. It's really no big deal. Something to moan about really.

IIRC, he used to do that all the time in his previous title until one bad guy used it against him and told him how stupid he was for giving him that information...

Oh, and can anyone tell me how this new SB ranks against the other two Kryptonians in terms of power? Speed, strength, that sort of thing, and what his powers all are? Not counting Power Girl since we have no idea yet how she ranks against them, though I suspect SG #20 will maybe say something about that.

LMAO!! Yeah he actually did just that in a Teen Titans issue when he fought them. Tim Drake over heard him spouting off about his TK and what not and he (a normal human) proceeded to beat the crap out of him in their first meeting lol. The only reason Superboy even walked away from that fight was because Tim was a nice guy and tried to reason with Superboy.

But I still think it's a cool little thing that's part of Superboy's character so I'm cool with it. I mean really his power is the only thing that he can actually call his own and he's very attached to it........just wish it was done better sometimes.

Well Superboy is pretty much the weakest and slowest out of the three. But that's not to say that he's is useless or the weak link or whatever. His powers are the most versatile out of the three and they can become more potent dependent on his emotional state. He can also go toe to toe with a noob Supergirl for a bit (even if she was miles faster and a good bit stronger even during then). He has absolute 0% chance in a fight with Superman if you were wondering.


But yeah he's proven to be the weakest and slowest psychically (Supergirl and Superman keeping up with the Flash and Superboy needing a TK trick to keep get the win)


His powers are TK and a healing factor. he can move stuff with his mind and whatever he touches he can "understand". Recently he has used his TK to hold together his body on a genetic level (sorta) like holding your chest to stop your guts from coming out if you're hurt I guess. He can mimic flight, strength, speed,and durability. But all of his powers are dependent on if he is actually concentrating on the task at hand and he must know the danger is coming. He has been jumped a number of times because he wasn't paying attention. He's even been stabbed through his chest this way.

all in all he's pretty cool though.

He told the Titans what his powers were,and how they worked while he was touchijng the ground exactly like he did in his first series,it took it as a shoutout to us long time fans,he hasnt done it any other time. Tim beat him down because he is a bat character,just like rose is a wilson,both families of characters are shown to be near flawless,even when they are human,and superboy easily beat the crap out of the other Titans,and they all are powered.
It hasnt been proven that SB is the weakest SUPER there is,kara attacked him,looked like she was trying to kill him,he took all her shots,and still had the ability to catch her fist as she was throwing it at him,that shows strength,and speed,but also durability,and he blasted her after he caught her fist with one TK blast and she was stopped cold,so no she is not leagues more powerful than him.and in superboy#17 she was beating him to death while he was already dying and trying desperatly to keep his dna from unraveling,and guess what he got up and pushed forward,thats not weakest link at all.
Superman and supergirl move like flash does,kons powers dont work like that,he doesnt run around or move his arms fast for superspeed,his powers are psionic,and instead he moves his TK energy at their speed,which he used against kid flash,he pushed him faster than he could sustain.he has the potential using his TK which moves at the speed of his thoughts,which are much faster than ours,and his TTK senses that he could do everything a speedster could do,just in his way.
His powers are-mimicked strength,speed,durability,flight,full no touch TK,a sensory aspect of his TTK that lets him perceive everything his TK touches,and he has a fast metabolism which has been said comes from his kryptonian side. His one and only weakness (so far) is that his powers are all mental based and as such he needs to focus to use them,so he can be hit with tire irons if he doesnt know its coming,or get stabbed in the gut if he gets to cocky and doesnt keep himself protected.

Yup I know I read the issue. I'm just trying to explain what he's doing in terms that anyone can understand or empathize with.........you nor I could possibly know what it's like to "hold every molecule in our body together" but I bet you could at least imagine what it would be like to be bleeding out and you disparately trying to keep you insides, inside. Not trying to undersell Superboy or anything.


Also feats from Superman and Supergirl put them above Superboy (Superman more so). The only reason he got KF was because he let loss a wide "net" of TK and caught in it. It's like going fishing and casting a net out and grabbing some fish. That doesn't mean the net his fast just it's castled across a wider area.

He then moved KF faster than he's ever gone before.......but how fast was that? mach 10 mach 12? He wasn't shown being that fast before. It seems to me like Superboy just used the speed KF as already going at and just gave him a push with his own that resulted in a speed that KF wasn't comfortable with just yet.

I sorta doubt that he could do the same trick to KF twice.


But all of that is besides the point because Superboy's greatest power is his versatility with his powers which is greater than Superman's and Supergirl's.

If SB doesnt master his mind he could never be as powerful as kal or kara.
He is no where near supermans power level.
Kon has TK that moves at the speed of thought,his mind is spread through his body,which lobdell stated awhile back would make his processing speed great,and he has TTK senses,which can scan anything his TK can reach,add those up together and you have someone who could keep up or beat a speedster at his own game.
It wasnt just basic TK netting,it was the three factors above that made him dominate bart.
