Month-to-month, I continue to be most impressed with Valiant's sales numbers. Their model of less books and stronger creative teams seems to be working well for them.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

I assume we're taking into account here the propensity of fans to go after #1 issues as a collectible. Seems like that could hinder projections for future issues of a given series. Meanwhile, look at titles like Hawkeye that probablly didn't have the huge push or print run that an Avengers title gets--some of its issues are already in third printing, well past the #1.

Oh Valiant, you are so wonderful an no one realizes it. Can you take over I, Vampire and Frankenstein, Agent of SHADE as your "monster" book?

Yes, Milligan is also leaving Red Lanterns.

Imagine if a publisher could give a title to a "renovation" creative team who re-energizes the interest in the title and then transition that team to a "sustaining" creative team which can continue to tell great stories with those characters while the "renovation" team moves on to the next title.
That's what they do. Johns launched Booster Gold and handed it over. Jeph Loeb launched Red Hulk and handed it over. Morrison launched Batman and Robin and handed it over. Morrison launched Action Comics and handed it over. Heinberg launched Wonder Woman and handed it over. Johns launched Flash and handed it over. Bendis launched Avengers Assemble and handed it over. Kevin Smith launched Daredevil and Green Arrow and handed them over. In fact, pretty much all commercially successful launches are eventually handed over to a "sustaining" creative team because the "renovating" creators don't want to be on the title forever. Johns Green Lantern and Ennis Punisher could be seen as either extended "renovations" before handing off anyway, or as exceptions to the rule.

Im impressed by Valiant that becayse i didnt even know that they had existed before i added XO Manowar to my pull list two months ago. My local comics shop told the they have too few comics for him to order them if they are not on someone pull list, almost begging not to order one of their comics.

Its good for superhero, action,SF genre that there are a publisher like them that can survive for fan like me. DH,Image does other type comics than them and DC/Marvel dont have cool SF action like XO Manowar.
    Pull List:
    The Walking Dead,Fatale,Near Death,Storm Dogs,Happy,BPRD,XO-Manowar
    American Vampire,Animal Man,Swamp Thing
    Daredevil, Winter Soldier,Indestructible Hulk
