.... hmm interesting that Gorr's constructs are indeed Sentient, what if Gorr himself isnt even alive in the future era, he passed away but his endless army carries on his will, thats perhaps why Old Thor has yet to fight him face to face.

Here is what I consider to be the obvious interpretation of how Aaron is making Thor: God of Thunder such an interesting emotional experience for the reader.
Gorr doesn't wear clothes. We have clearly been shown the black of his "cloak" and other "clothing" is actually inside of him. What Gorr does with his inside, as shown in graphic detail in his first attack on the young Thor, is that he likes to repeatedly penetrate gods with his appendages that are extensions of him. Gorr is not just the butcherer of gods: He's the rapist-murderer of the gods. That's what's different, what has never been shown I believe in a Marvel Thor comic.
Those guard dogs are Gorr's children born from their flesh after he rapes and murders gods.
This is such an exciting story arc. I am very much looking forward to picking this up Wednesday. Might have to re-read issues 1-4 on Tuesday just to be prepared. This story reads as a movie-ready script.
Oh man, do I love this comic. Probably the best Marvel Now comic released. So excited to see how this arc ends!
This book is good and how Thor should be written in the modern age. Just an awesome story.

Seems like forever since the last issue. Can't wait. I'm still wondering how Young Thor breaks free from his chains and what he does in response to the torture. Ribic's panels flow seamlessly, the guy is on fire.
"Waves are but water. Wind but air. And though lightning be fire...yet it must answer thunder's call."
The religious overtones are interesting. I wonder what Gorr's dream is?
I thought you guys were overrating this book by a fair margin through the first two issues, but the last two I really enjoyed, and now I'm very much psyched for this.
Considering the generally warm reception this title has gotten, it went from selling 100,000 copies right down to 58,000 and has been losing a few thousand orders every month. And yet the largely panned Iron Man title outsells both Hulk and Thor (both vastly superior solo titles, IMO). It can't only be the "power of Downey Jr."
"Waves are but water. Wind but air. And though lightning be fire...yet it must answer thunder's call."
Its curious that Gorr doesn't want to harm ordinary people.
Something the gods did to him or someone he loved probably ticked him off.
I'm really enjoying this.
Adults struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life when the answer is obvious to the smallest child: because it's not real. - Grant Morrison
Comics have forgotten the art of the cliffhangar (not simply a reveal) to keep readers coming back for more. Do this often enough and you get them hooked through time investment.Originally Posted by HaveAtThee
Likewise they should try simultaneous multiple plots to vary the pacing and the occasional dose of shock/outrage to keep readers on their toes.
