We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

But a source said the lobbying likely involves a lot more than making promises about ticket sales and television ratings before the glasses of Madeira are brought to the table. The source did not work on a lobbying campaign, but he has direct knowledge of past visits to the U.S. made by foreign Olympic officials. He has seen firsthand how Olympic favor is curried: "Trips and vacations for IOC members and their families. Prostitutes are ordered. Bribes aren't always in direct monetary form—more gift form. It's basically about 'taking care of' the IOC members. Those dudes don't need money, so that's kind of the last thing down the list. Now escalate that to a ton of rich dudes trying to impress each other."

Coach Vladimir Uruimagov: "The Gays killed Wrestling."
*shakes in uncontrollable rage*
Typical..... nobody cares about nothing till its taken away. Nobody watches wrestling during the Olympics.
Maybe if they WWE'ed the sport. People would watch.
I say combine the two--call it, Wrestle Golf.
Participants Wrestle to see who get the best lie on drives. Whoever scores the highest gets a Mulligan. Whoever scores the lowest gets a McMahon.
Lol this is some bs.
Black History Month & 29 Days in February
People are watching. NBC's coverage was abysmal enough that followers were pirating the BBC just to watch at a decent hour. So you really can't count on NBC numbers. The “average minute of TV coverage” of wrestling in the 2008 Olympics was watched by 29.5 million people globally. Field hockey: 11.8 million. Fencing: 24.3 million. Badminton: 21.2 million. Team handball: 23.3 million. Sailing: 24.5 million. Triathlon: 19.4 million. Modern pentathlon: 23.1 million. Even tennis was lower: 26.1 million. (Swimming, gymnastics, weightlifting (?!) and track and field are the big draws, as you’d expect — 40 million to 65 million. Table tennis was also over 40 million, so the people complaining about “ping pong” might want to adjust their arguments.)
