i think it's a great idea. they could put an all star creative team on it and it would be huge. then inevitably peter out like Superman/Batman.

A team only working well together and being interesting if they are different is a misconception anyway. For example, I love Superman and Steel team-ups, and Clark and John Henry are very similar in personality and world views.
Polar opposite characters can be a source of an interesting team dynamic. Its not the only source.

Under the right writer it could work. I know I've always thought WW/Superman looked good together, and kind of natural considering how different they are.
You know what I was really kind-of hoping to see instead of Superman/Batman again? Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman, or Trinity, or something with those three as the star.
With the New 52 the way it is now, you already have an awesome hook for it--guys, you know how you'll be best buds with a guy, but then suddenly he gets a new girlfriend and then you two don't spend as much time together as you did before? Imagine that, but with superheroes. The three could go on big, rolling adventures, but the overall story could be about Superman and Wonder Woman's relationship growing and Batman slowly becoming friends with his friend's girl.
