The Infinity Gems: Is it time for a new Infinity Watch?

It was kind of bs how the original gems were stolen from the watch by Ruin anyway. Can't imagine Thanos would have taken kindly to anyone stealing his reality gem.

I thought it was done in a believable enough way. Once he got the time gem, there wasn't a whole lot the other guardians could do to stop Rune from getting the other gems. Except Warlock, but unfortumately the Soul Gem sort of had a mind of it's own.

But I do think Thanos maybe should have done a bit more to try and get the gem he was guarding back. And maybe the plan was for him to eventually show up in the Ultraverse too... judging by how the Avengers/Ultra Force thing ended it seemed like there was going to be more to the story.

But I guess all the Ultraverse stuff is pretty moot at this point.

Moondragon and Drax are cooler with their gems. I never liked it when they wer moved to Reed, Xavier etc.

They should get strong guardians. Maybe spreaded through several galaxies. So 2 in ours (Moondragon and Drax), 2 at Shi'ar space Gladiator and Vulcan and 2 in Kree space, Crystal and Ronan the Accusar.

I like the idea behind the Infinity Watch but most of the members were transferred over to the Guardians and given recent developments there's not a whole lot to watch but we'll see where that goes.

My thoughts are that the Guardians would be the best keepers of the Infinity Gems, certainly more trustworthy than the members of the Illuminati.

I would rather see some of the Gems fall back into hands of villains rather than just heroes. A character that knew how to use a gem to its full potential could become a very real cosmic threat very fast.

I think the Silver Surfer was able to get the gems away from Rune almost as soon as he completely assembled the Gauntlet. But they ended up in the Ultarverse before being collected by Loki. Ultra Force and the Avengers were able to disperse the gems again, before Galactus brought them back into the 616.
