DnA would be fantastic. Anyone else on the list, not so much.
I guess this is as good a time as ever to go ahead and drop my GL titles.
^DnA burnt out close to the end of GotG.
Lemire or Fialkov are my choices.
Bedard, Tomasi and Robinson is probably the choice of DC editorial. I wonder which one will get the shiny.
DnA would be a good choice, they seem to be at home in outer space (though I would personally prefer they were used to beef up another non-Lantern corner of the Universe).

Guess Matt Kindt isn't a big enough name for CBR to consider, but he'd be a perfect fit IMO.

Alan Scott may get his own title in the near future, but it ain't going to be Green Lantern. I don't know what CBR is thinking with that suggestion. I figure it'll be Tomasi or, as the above poster suggested, a left-field choice like Matt Kindt whom Johns will be taking under his wing on JLA.
I think Fialkov is the most obvious option here, especially considering that he said that he was going to write "two interconnected books" so he could be handling both GL and GLC.
I would'nt be surprised to see Lobdell in New Guardians, I would be quite happy in fact.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.
Fialkov (GL), Fialkov (GLC), Lobdell(GLNG), Venditti(RL)? SOLD!
Venditti would be amazing but I'm trying to catch up on his X-O Manowar, so I don't need too much of his stuff yet. LOL
Whoever takes over I just hope we can go back to having the main GL book focus only on the green, and Hal. The rest of the Corps REALLY need a break (that is, readers need a break from them!)
Just keep Lobdell away from GLNG. Don't want that to happen.Nothing I've read or heard about from his work during the New 52 has ever been people super stoked for his issues. For the main series, realistically, I think John Layman would be a great choice. I love what he has done with Detective and is the reason I picked it back up (Daniel did a thorough job of just nearly ruining that book for me). Plus he would be able to add levity to the book which would be much needed and the way he does that with Chew is great. Also, the way he can actually get a true feel for characters he works on he did not create really is some of the best stuff I've seen in regards to capturing the essence of such character. Though I do enjoy Lemire's work I doubt he would be able to add it to his already impressive workload for the time being. As for making GL into an Earth-2 book with Alan Scott, that just seems to be a bit ridiculous to consider an actual possibility, really left field.
The first name that came to my mind was Mark Waid, or is he contracted to Marvel?
I'm really unhappy with those choices. Not a single one of them save for Fialkov would be ideal.
Of those working at DC right now, there are three names that immediately spring to mind;
1. Grant Morrison. But he's not doing ongoings anymore.
2. China Mieville. But I very much doubt he's interested in doing real DCU books; he's in it to do his individual Sandman-style thing, and while I'd disappointed, I understand.
3. Matt Kindt. I think he'd be perfect when it comes to sheer creativity. If anything I think he's a more likely choice for "Green Lantern Corps" than he is for "Green Lantern", which is a damn shame. He's likely to be included in some way, though, as Johns has taken a shine to him. He may even get the main book.
I suspect DC is preparing either Robert Venditti - who has garnered success for his (IMHO, bland) take on X-O Man-o-War at Valiant - or Joshua Hale Fialkov, who they recognize to be their up and coming critical darling. Neither of them have really shown the kind of big-scale, grand-idea generating proclivities that I'd want in a book like this. To be fair to Fialkov, he hasn't really been put into a position to do so (save for Last of the Greats), but Venditti has been delivering some extraordinarily generic sci-fi work on X-O, so I'm hesitant.
A darkhorse that will never get the nod is Ales Kot. He's got no history with DC, so I don't see it happening, but I'd be thrilled.
Names NOT working at DC that I'd have liked to have seen? Brandon Graham (Prophet, Multiple Warheads, King City), John Hickman, Joe Kelly, Mike Carey (he's not doing work for DC proper; he's doing Unwritten and a new creator owned thing from Boom plus his novels, so he's all booked up), Jason Aaron, Warren Ellis, and Hal Jordan superfan Kurt Busiek.
And of course, me. :)
