Stop me if I'm wrong but I never did like the direction GL has gone now that it's basically the Power Rangers.

This is an absolute gut-punch for me and not the sort of news I wanted to wake up to this morning, particularly since I've found Johns' GL to be stronger than it's been in some time.

Whoever steps in has impossibly large boots to fill. Worse still, I really do fear for the worst given that DC's current talent pool just isn't that deep (which is why they've lately been hiring indie writers by the dozen, hoping that at least a couple will stick).

The only people I'd have any interest in seeing on Green Lantern after Johns are Snyder or Morrison...and Morrison's basically done with ongoing work at DC and Snyder's plate is full. I fear for the worst.

I want to say yes, given Johns' talk of it being the right time to leave and that he "hopes it pays off everything we've ever done and ever created with Green Lantern." Can't really say that if he leaves with his final story just dangling in the air.

A successful one too, for the most part.

Agreed. When he introduced Baz IMO it was a real indication that he should move on. He's produced some great GL comics, and hope that he leaves on a high note (and Hal comes back to stay!)

On another note, Mahnke kicks royal butt. What an amazing illustrator.

Any of those would be quite wonderful. I'll not be surprised of it is Venditti, as someone else mentioned, who has something big in the works supposedly, but I will be disappointed as his sci-fi work on X-O hasn't wowed me in the least.

Tomasi's a great GL writer. I enjoyed his GL stories. Farewell, GJ :( Will miss you.

This...I...Johns was the only reason I came to give a dang about Green Lantern. His run, and guiding of the mythos has made GL for me. This sucks. I'll be dropping GL when Johns leaves. It was a great run Geoff.

I absolutely loved Geoff's run on GL, almost as much as his run on the Flash. But I have to say...
