The point was that if the X-men had not been on the Moon Hope would have been murdered since no Engraver intervened.
It's certainly a crime... whether or not it's actually wrong is another matter.

Logan and Hope believed, like Breevort and Gillen, that if Hope can't control the Phoenix the earth ends up getting destroyed. And as we saw on the moon, Hope couldn't control the Phoenix (something she herself admits both during and after) It's similar to the New Avengers in a lot of ways. They're considering destroying an entire planet. Is it murder? Sure. Is it a crime? Sure. Is it wrong? Depends on your perspective on the matter.

He did try killing her AFTER it was clear that she couldn't control it. Despite not wanting to kill her, it was what he promised Hope he would do. But if you wanty read Wolverine and the X-Men you'll see he made the decision to try and save her rather than kill her. Which is why he called the Avengers.

    Who won AvX?

Wanda. The Scarlet Witch won AvX. She took home the grande prize: psycho villain to Avenger again in 12 issues flat.

Everyone else just came off as ridiculous. :p
Freedom is the ability to live without fear of persecution. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less.
