Because everyone knows that sales == quality.
The only time I repeatedly see that comment is from those who have been miffed due to the cancellation of a book that they, and obviously not enough of others, liked. Tastes are subjective, and it can just as easily be said about cancelled books that the majority had better taste on the matter and shifted their dollars elsewhere. Or we can simply all agree that certain books appeal to certain customers, and we shouldn't trash the one's that are successful just because we are feeling spiteful because it doesn't suit our particular tastes.

Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest
I love that they got Blond as the new colorist. His work is so freaking pretty. I really like Sampere's art here, and if they need a new regular artist for this title, I would definitely prefer him to Pasarin (who is solicited for #20).
I found this issue to be pretty bad. Terribly stodgy writing! Barbara Sr.'s personality was utterly unrecognizable. And the art was all over the place: good one moment, terrible the next. Looking forward to the return of the regular writer and some more consistent art!

"If God is the answer, the wrong question has been asked."
Between this, the last issue of Justice League Dark (which Fawkes did all the scripting for), and that Constantine preview, it's becoming clear that Fawkes is addicted to textboxes and copious amounts of exposition.
As a guy who built his career off of illustrating his own work, I wonder if that's an outgrowth of not feeling entirely comfortable with not having total control over the artistic process.
