I don't connect with Batman as a character beyond him being a personification of what a normal man can accomplish with enough drive and resources.

It could be due to age, but I always connected more with Dick and Tim.

Miller's Batman seemed pretty physically vulnerable to me, especially in "Year One."

Was Battman ever in a sci fi story?

Robin was always meant to be the Watson/POV character, so maybe that's why.

Speaking of, that's why I think Tim was such a great reinvention of the whole Robin idea. Making him a Peter Parker like everyman. Not a circus boy who tags along with Batman in pixie boots.

Probably, and yeah that's why I enjoyed Tim as much as I did. Dick is definitely a character one can relate to, but imo he lacks that everyman quality simply because he's just too cool.

How much his willing to sacrifice of himself to save the rest of Gotham and how selfless and determined he is.

Of course, this seems to be shown more in the Nolan movies and cartoons than comic books for some reason.
