    Default Legion members' fighting abilities

I'm a mere dabbler in the Legion of Super Heroes, so I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than I could answer me this: Is every Legion member a way above street level fighter? I'm just asking because you see plenty of situations in which physically unthreatening members like Dream Girl or Invisible Kid routinely more than hold their own against shapeshifting Durlanians, battle-hardened Khunds etc. Sure, the flight rings give them a lot of mobility, but did Karate Kid hold an intensive workshop for them all, or something? Just wondering.

Extensive combat training is par for the course for the legionairres, so seeing Dreamy or Invisible kid take down a durlan or khund isn't out of the realm of possibility. During the great darkness saga Chameleon boy defeated a daxamite while depowered, I mean granted he threw him towards validus but I think of it as a win. Due to their training, the average legionairre lives a lot longer than your average teen titan or x man, reboots non withstanding.

I see, so it's par for the course, then. Thanks for clarifying.

The best non hand to hand combatant in the Legion without combat oriented powers is either Dream Girl or Shadow Lass. After them it is probably
    Shrinking Violet.

Brainiac 5 is pretty bad-ass too.

It is interesting to think that the Legion women are probably among the best fighters on the team.

Note that the Legionnaires are all decent fighters but the guys I noted stand out as being especially tough.

Dudes who specialize in combat powers like Timber Wolf and Mon el are another matter.

It's possible that this series had some descriptions of each Legionnaire's fighting abilities, but they are all pretty good and some are better than others.

Keep in mind that most of the Legionnaires received some training from Karate Kid (RIP).

I would say Phantom Girl is probably up there too - basically all the lower powered members are some of the better hand to hand fighters (due to necessity i suppose).

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.
