Default OT: "The Boxtrolls" - Laika's next stop-motion animated film

Official press release for Laika Animation Studio's next film, which I have been working on for 12 months now:

I'm still amazed and delighted at the voice talent that they got for this one, and the look that we've developed for the film is pretty extraordinary.

This movie looks too cute. I can't wait to see it. Coraline and ParaNorman were 2 of my favorite horror theme films in recent times.

    Awesome!

Man, about the only bad news is that it's a year away.

I'm going to love this film, aren't I?

That looks great! Stop motion looks so much better than CGI in my opinion.
If you don't mind me asking, what kinds of things do you work on for the film Grim Tim?

I agree wholeheartedly, but this film is going to be a "hybrid." While the majority of the animation is traditional stop-mo, they're doing quite a bit of digital set extension and fully digital background characters. This is by necessity, mind you - otherwise we'd never get the damned thing done!

I work in the model shop, which is part of the set shop - we make all of the stuff to dress out the miniature sets (and yes, it *is* rather fun )

Looks fantastic, man. Best of luck that the rest of production goes smoothly.

I just saw the new trailer while watching Frozen and it looked fantastic, I love that behind the scenes kind of thing to begin with but it was neat to see that as a selling point. I didn't perchance see your hand did I Tim?

    Can't wait to see more.

Hand... no. But a few quick glimpses of some of my work.
