Why go cgi when you have Thor being played by a real actor?
Irene Adler: “I would have you right here on this desk until you begged for mercy twice.”
Sherlock: “I’ve never begged for mercy in my life.”
    Irene: “Twice.”

    I'll say, it depends.

Like others here, I don't see any real reason that WW can't work in live action. And I'd love to see a well doen, live action WW movie(s) and/or tv series.

At the same time, I'd also like to see more superheroes done along the lines of "The Incredibles." Not everything needs to be live action, imo. So, in that sense, I think cgi/animation could work well for WW (movie and/or animated series).

If its an actual live action film, a CGI Wonder Woman is a stupid idea. It perpetuates the false idea that superhero characters for some reason are hard to cast. Its not nearly that difficult. In the cases of characters who are otherwise very humanoid or altogether alien in appearance though, that's a different story.

I remember the first opening to the Justice League cartoon had them all as CGI and worked well. The Green Lantern animated series has done very well with the characters of Ayia and Carol Fenris. I wouldn't mind a CGI film like the Incredibles because it would give them a lot of room to play with. Keep Suesan Isenberg for Diana and that'd be good too.

Let's face it, Wonder Woman -if they ever do make a film- is going to be harder to do than Superman and Batman and the Avengers. The costume is problem number 1. That wouldn't be a problem with animation. But all of the expectations, all of the pre-conceptions and all of the difficulties in deciding what type of Wonder Woman story to make... those are all going to be there in any format.

I think the biggest advantage in a CGI Wonder Woman film is that if you want to do a string over them over a decade you don't have to worry about the actress being called too old to play the part. Cartoons don't age after all.

I'm glad someone beat me to it. Nothing else really needs to be said about this topic.

    Thank you.

The article linked to talks about a CGI character in an X-Men live action film. Like Gollum in Lord Of The Rings. Probably somebody like Nightcrawler or blue, cyborged Archangel or whatever.

The technology to do convincing CGI humans in live action films simply doesn't exist.

But the OP is talking about a CGI Wonder Woman in an otherwise live action film. Which is daft.

The CGI in the Justice League intro aged badly.Justice League cartoon is still watchable.

IF everyone was CGI, like in Beowulf, then that's fine.

BUT, I would not want to see a live action movie with actors playing Superman, Batman, Flash and Green Lantern, but a CGI Wonder Woman.

Heck, if they were going to spend that much money on CGI, they could just cast Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman and de-age her like they did Professor X and Magneto in the terrible X-Men 3.

Why would Wonder Woman be CGI if the other actors were live-action?

I think an all CGI WW movie could look awesome depending on the conceptual artist the animation is based on. I said in another thread I wouldn't mind if her costume was motion capture/CGI, like in Ironman and Green Lantern as long as it looked right. But having a CGI WW next to an actor playing Supes or Bats would just look awful.

After seeing the latest GL-Animated episode with Carol and the Star Saphires I don't think I'd mind a CGI Wonder Woman film or series.

Maybe it would be a good idea to make Wonder Woman from a computer generated image for a major motion picture since everyone have different opinions on what actress should play her? Also having an accomplished actress like ashley judd, Catherine Zeta Jones to do her voice would be a plus.
If Ashley Judd goes anywhere near WW, in any shape, in any form, even if she just has a daydream about it one day, then I'll head for the nearest bridge.

    "accomplished actress"............... grrrr.

    Sure.

I think "Wonder Woman" would be better off as an animated feature.
