    8. Have you ever felt sympathy towards a real life villain? YES
    9. If so, why?

I always feel I can relate to their human difficulties and can see how they would react with those limitations. With Fictional villains it's a little more obtuse.

    10. Do you believe that villains are punished adequately?

In my example of fictional villains, I don't. They tend to be just incarcerated and because they are very resourceful, they escape most of the time and re-offend.

    11. Have you ever found yourself rooting for a villain? YES
    12. If yes, fictional? Real? Both? FICTIONAL.

    1. List five villains: Cersei Lannister, Darth Vader, Sauron, Lord Voldemort, Scar
    2. In a few words give your description of a villain? A villain is anyone who works in opposition to the forces of "mainstream" ethics; they usually believe that they are doing what is best due to a different moral code.

    3. Were any of those five villains television or movie villains? Yes.
    4. If so, how many? One was a television villain, while the rest were movie villains (some in adaptations of literary works.)
    5. Were any of the villains actual real life villains? No.
    6. When the term "villain" is used does your mind first think real life, or fictional? Fictional.
    7. Why? In real life, we are all heroes to some people and villains to others. There are very few concrete examples of purely evil individuals.
    8. Have you ever felt sympathy towards a real life villain? Yes.
    9. If so, why? I believe that writing someone off as "evil" or "a madman" is a way to make ourselves feel comfort-- to reduce the complexity of a given situation.
    10. Do you believe that villains are punished adequately? Not always.
    11. Have you ever found yourself rooting for a villain? Yes.
    12. If yes, fictional? Real? Both? Fictional.

    Do your own homework.
Thanos then turns Supes' balls into kryptonite, taking him out, leaving just Black Adam and Captain Marvel who then cling to each other in terror screaming "I love you!"

    1. Five Villains: Angelus, Doctor Doom, King Ghidorah, Lex Luthor, David Xanatos

    2. In a few words give your description of a villain?

I actually dislike the word villain, and prefer the word "Adversary" to describe such characters in fiction. Villains are simply adversaries to the cast. What an Adversary can mean is a bit more, but generally indicates something that is working against the protagonists or is otherwise a hindrance to them.

    3. Were any of those five villains television or movie villains?

Angelus is from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". David Xanatos is from "Gargoyles". King Ghidorah is probably THE villain of the Godzilla series.

    4. If so, how many?

    Three.

    5. Were any of the villains actual real life villains?

    None.

    6. When the term "villain" is used does your mind first think real life, or fictional?

    Fictional.

    7. Why?

Everyone is the hero of their own story.

    8. Have you ever felt sympathy towards a real life villain?

Given I don't hold that there are real life villains, I can't say that I do.

    10. Do you believe that villains are punished adequately?

In fiction? It varies depending on the story.

    11. Have you ever found yourself rooting for a villain?

Indeed I have, either when they have sympathetic motivations or even when they are simply more entertaining than the designated heroes.

    12. If yes, fictional? Real? Both?

    Fiction Only.

I thought Doom and Osborn were good examples of villains who had no control over themselves. Both men saw their problems in terms of others. They had to defeat the other person, and then all their problems would be solved. Because they couldn't, that problem never got solved.

I had sympathy for Loki in the Avengers movie. That guy was fantastic. I loved that he was so smug and carried it off with such self confidence. He was also in a TV show wasn't he? Something about witches - HEX?
