    Default REVIEW: Detective Comics, #17

John Layman and Jason Fabok continue their
mission of adding depth and fresh, new
characters to Gotham City by delivering the
latest adventures of the Merrymaker and the
League of Smiles as they fight Batman in
    "Detective Comics" #17.

I really loved this tie-up to the League of Smiles storyline. Every bit of it was really well done and has me wanting more. Unlike the run Daniel had on the book, Layman is making this feel as if its building much more out of its surroundings instead of adding characters and making that appear as substance. Plus I really love that he wants this to be more of a mystery like a book named Detective should be. Really do not want this creative team to be going off the book anytime in the near future since it has just switched my opinion on this particular series since the reboot. 5/5 for me on this one. Keep them coming.

3/5 for me. The art was the biggest draw.
    Marvel: Mr. Franklin // Uriel & Eimin // Pixie // Cable // Sebastian Shaw // "X-Men" // Manifold
DC: Damian Wayne // Batman // Red Hood // Superman // Aquaman

a good issue though I'd say it's probably the weakest so far. it lacked any kind of red herring. I just hope that I can enjoy this without some other book's crossover hampering my fun for a while.

I liked the backup better than the main story.
