I think the thing to take away from this inescapable shipping, is that it's going to be one-sided, with very little actual affection involved. Let's face it, she's evil, and he's Scott Summers. This is going to be delightfully superficial and shallow, and she is going to dominate every moment of it. Hell, she might even be motivated to punish him for how he's used women in the past. Ilyanna seems like a very complex person.

The Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity that is as necessary as Galactus. There should be serious consequences in getting rid of it. I hope that since Bendis will write a "cosmic" comic, he will show what happens to the universe without the Phoenix Force around....but I'm not holding my breath.

With the prime host/the avatar of the Phoenix back in the present time, Jean Grey, I bet the Phoenix remanifests through her . She had a dream in which she was stabbed by Wolverine ,and the Phoenix manifested in her eyes. Jean is the key. Brevoort said if Hope and Wanda could make it go away, Jean could bring it back.

Zeb Wells might have said that but unless it shows up in the comics it might as well be like any other opinion, especially since he's not involved in the X franchise anymore. Bendis obviously didn't get that message for example.

Illyana is drawn like an adult woman, and calls people like Pixie and Quentin Quire children. She's obviously an adult. After Belasco resurrected her as the Darkchilde, by the time the New X-men were pulled into Limbo, Illyana'a darkchilde form already looked adult like, so she had spent years in Limbo again at that point. Amanda Sefton told Hellion and Surge, when she teleported them to Limbo she was adjusting the magic so that minutes passed, and not years.

She's even called Colossus a naive child, so technically, she could be older than him, due to all the Limbo stuff, plus the time she spent away in the future searching for the Bloodstones.

It could well be, that given the circumstances of her resurrection, Illyana's physical aging has been retarded.
Its possible, like the Enchantress played around with during the Asgardian Wars tie-in, Illyana cannot exceed a certain age, physically, for whatever reason.

She may "grow older", but never look it.

After reading this piece, I don't think a Magik romance is going to happen:

Magik has never had a love life. Do you have any plans to develop that area of her life? Her actual sexuality has never really been confirmed. Is she gay, straight, completely asexual? Inquiring minds want to know!

It's funny with her and I'm spending a great deal of time with her. If you're a Magik fan, you're going to get a whole lot going on with her starting with "Uncanny X-Men" #5. She's still, on some level, a little girl who lost her childhood. There's a great deal missing from her life, not unlike a child star where you feel clearly they've missed out on something. That's going to play into who she is now as an adult woman. With all of the new students, there's certainly an opportunity for clean relationships with her. She's got a lot to deal with beyond her sexuality first before she can even get to any kind of normalcy.

I'll tell you, she's had some good friends, some truly good friends over the years that she's just not friends with anymore. I look at that as kind of sad. Her and Kitty were really good friends and now they can't be. We're going to be looking into that as well.
