    Default REVIEW: Harbinger

Joshua Dysart, Mico Suayan, and Pere Perez
show Harada's origin in "Harbinger" #0, but the
trip back to Hiroshima 1945 is anything but a
    pleasant flashback.

A good read with excellent insight into Harada, as well as his relationship with Darpan.

I have to say, though, that I would have liked to have seen more of Harada between Hiroshima and present day. The Syrian Oil story was interesting, and showed the lengths Harada is willing to go to achieve his goals, but was basically established already through small snipits in previous issues.

This almost would have fit better as Harbinger #10 following the Renegades arc, similar to last month's Bloodshot #7--More as a character study flashback than a true "Zero" issue.

I thought it was good but thought we would learn more about the Bleeding Monk, I guess that story is still to come.

I thought we would learn more about anything at all. Kind of disappointed in this issue. But then, I tend to be disappointed in #0 issues in general. As a prelude or prologue, it just didn't work for me.
In my opinion is implied in every post. Please make an effort to remember that.

Good point. There wasn't anything wrong with this issue. The story was well written and I really like Suayan's art, but we didn't learn anything about Harada or Project Rising Spirit. Given his Japanese origins and near obsession with order and control it was pretty reasonable to assume his origin was related to WWII. More focus on the Monk or the Rising Spirit's early days would have been more interesting.

Was anyone else expecting the Captain running the black market to be Harada's father? There was even the fact that the boy was cut off before he gave his father's name. I was sure that revelation was coming and instead the memory sort of stopped there with Harada's killing the Captain.
