Very excited about the villains choosen in the sequel.
Both Electro and Rhino are awesome villains,so i dont even have to say i am looking forward to see it.
Visually speaking the scenes featuring them guarantee greatness ,Rhino tromping through the streets and Electro with his powers.Oh man, this should be great.
    Pull List:Uncanny Avengers,Avengers,Superior Spider-Man,Daredevil,All New X-Men,Hawkeye,Captain America,Thor:God of Thunder,Swamp Thing,Morbius,Thunderbolts,Iron Man,Fatale.

I think they'll go with someone bigger for Norman.

My guess is Colm Feore will be a scientist working for Osborn.
I'm not so sure about that. They're spending a ton of money between Garfield, Stone, and Fox. Harvey Pekar isn't coming to the party for peanuts and neither is Sally Field. Woodley is established...somewhat.

Feore is a very good actor who has been around for a long time. He's capable of being confident, imposing, and very scary. I think he's Stormin Norman.
Doc Ock - I'm Peter Parker.
Peter Parker - Not anymore Spider-Man. From now on I'm Peter Parker.

I cannot recommend Scarlet Spider enough, but here's trying.

With that cast, it does seem that someone lesser-known would be out of place as the villain, especially since it looks like Osborn will stick around for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Granted, you could say the same about Rhys Ifans, but at least he was the lead in a Roland Emmerich film.

I hope they do the death of Gwen correctly.

Correctly = 1. Norman knows Peter is Spider-Man (which I think he already does).
    2. Norman knows that Peter loves Gwen.
    3. Norman is the GG and he commits the crime.
    4. Peter's web line snaps her neck.

An added plus would be they're in college and Harry is doing club drugs and getting wacked at Electric Daisy concerts!

I hope Sins Past isn't included.
I'm interested in how Pete's parents died here since Red Skull couldn't have caused it

It would be a different story since Gwen Stacy knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.

So Webb may try to give her greater agency. Perhaps she sacrifices herself somehow.

I'm very interested in how they'll handle the death.

There is also an unlikely but intellectually honest alternative, with Peter Parker dying to save Gwen.

Gwen knowing Peter's identity changes the story drama wise but it doesn't really play into the major points I brought up. You may be onto something regarding Peter sacrificing himself. I think the powers that be wouldn't spicing up the series with a heroes death. It's been faked in the Dark Knight Rises but never truly carried out and it would open the possibility to a non white Spider-Man.

How would Sins Past be included? Gwen is in highschool. She'll either be in highschool in the third installation where she will presumably die or she'll be starting college. There's no time for her to get pregnant and have two children raised and trained by Norman O to kill Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Furthermore, Sony and Fox have shown absolutely no faith to any specific comic storyline. I don't know why they'd honor an extremely controversely sotryline. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Sorry for massive run-ons. I'm in a rush...

"The Draco" was a bad story but there wasn't anything inherently awful in the concept of Nightcrawler having an evil dad.

Azazel also fit the specific story Matthew Vaughn was trying to tell. It allowed Vaughn to have a character with Nightcrawler's abilities in an X-Men prequel.

I think they are going to graduate in this movie (as I once predicted/advised) so if Gwen survives ASM2 (which I personally doubt), she will be college age in ASM3.

So... the question is, what do you guys think? What would you like to see in any upcoming sequels?

    Feel free to speculate.

EDIT: Also, if you find any information regarding the upcoming sequels then please feel welcome to post them in this thread. I will add any news or rumours that I come across as and when.

Finally, this was Mister Mets' idea for a Megathread so I feel that he should get credit for it; it was a great idea for a thread!
Good call on mentioning Giamatti two years ago.

No mention of Rhino in the press-release makes me guess (or daydream) that Rhino is going to be the opening sequence Bond-style one-shot baddie, kinda like how I mentioned a few pages back. Like Ultimate Spider-Man #28 (Sidetracked) is basically Pete spends most of the issue just trying to ditch school so he can go fight the Rhino. and Ultimate rhino is just a small dude in the middle of the suit. And this series takes more than a few cues from USM. (speaking of which, go read USM #28 if you can, it's a classic).

Also more USM hints, this pic that Webb twittered out:

which looks a hellova lot like locker that held "the suit" from USM that Pete found with Eddie that their fathers worked on. But no mention of Eddie in the film, maybe it'll take the visual reference / conspiracy vibe and plop in Harry Osborn instead.

Idk. I think The Rhino not being in the plot summary simply means that Giamatti wont be turning into the Rhino yet, but just appear as Aleksei. Orr theyre pulling a Dark Knight trilogy move and keeping a 2nd villain secret.

The Ultimate Rhino is pretty much a pushover. Once you get close enough to touch him. I am hoping he does not play a huge role in the movie, but is just a bad guy somewhere along the way. Definitely a chance for some humor there, which I think is what they are going for with Giamatti.
