Fawkes' Batgirl story was my favorite part of this special and it's a damn shame he was'nt chosen as the writer on the main story.

Nightwing story was average.

The look the guy in the comic store gave me when I was buying this was priceless. Yet to read it, but looking forward to it!

Wow, you could tell all that from just eight pages of dialogue? Amazing. And did not Mr. Fawkes forget the fact that Ricky is a teenager is he not? He had Batgirl make out with a minor? Hasn't Gail been on record stating she sees her Ricky character as being around 16 yrs old in her mind? Sounds like this writer did not bother to do the proper background checking for the story, 'amazing' indeed. Other than that glaring error I will state his depiction of Batgirl's overall personality did seem on point, but simply without Gail's introspective thought boxes as this tale was more from Ricky's perspective.

Yeah, I probably would have enjoyed a few of those stories. But, based on the price, I made a point not even to look at it, so I wouldn't be tempted.

The price had more to do with the valentine cards inserted in the book. But of course, what collector is going to tear them out?

So Ursa Minor was just some mercenary? I am surprised they didn't at least use someone familiar, like Sonia. Higgins has been building that for a while. Feels like a bit of a waste to use a potential throwaway character, but I guess Higgins might use her again.

Ricky's age is pretty open to interpretation unless it's been outright stated on panel (which I don't think it has).
That being said, my LCS didn't have any copies left.

Right now, its just Barbara calculating him to be "no older than 16. Maybe" in the annual. Writers could play it off as extremely baby-faced adult, I guess.

Well Babs has outright stated that she thinks he's no more the 16.

To be fair, Barbara's calculations did get her into a bad spot with Batwoman before. She might a bit off again.

If what I've read here is any indication, I get the impression that a lot of retailers were spooked by the price tag. My guy had quite a stack of them on the shelf.
