Default In Defining a WONDER WOMAN Moment...

What is a "Wonder Woman" moment? That is entirely up to you and what you feel about Diana. Ultimately, it has to be a moment that you feel defines her random acts of kindness or something which you feel is typical of her behavior.

This thread can help us understand her a little better and ourselves as well!

I think it would be fun if you could cite such moments where you've read her book (or appearance in other book) where you can point at it and say "THAT's Wonder Woman!" I'll start off with two "Wonder Woman" moments! If you don't have screen caps, feel free to cite the situation and book title, or number if you can!

Here, from Wonder Woman #173 in the Jimenez era, we have a classic Wonder Woman moment where she turns the tables on Darkseid... and infects him with 'Love'.

One of my favorite moments from Wonder Woman #15! Wonder Woman has every right to be mean (to say the least) to Hera, whom basically got rid of her entire race, and her mother. Yet, she still treats her with class.

Feel free to post about any of YOUR Wonder Woman moments!

Not sure if these can be considered as 'WW defining moments'. But I've always loved how the other heroes/characters behave around her and regard her with the utmost affection and respect (and sometimes in case of members of the female persuasion, envy).

Those scenes with Flash and especially the one with Blue Beetle are, to me, the very definition of what makes Diana special.87

From Wonder Woman #600... the mother of all superheroines, gathers and leads an army against a horde of cyber sirens hypnotizing the male population into mindless drones. Followed by giddy moments of the DC ladies reacting to meeting Diana.

WONDERful thread, Rob. And I do enjoy the Wonder Moments. Nice choices all. :)

    Ok, some of my favorites:

A Leage of One: WW using the lasso on herself - it's so simple and so beautiful.

The Hiketeia: WW shelters a killer in her home and puts her to work.

New Frontier: I know this one is controversial. I understand why it's controversial. I love it. WW sets the women free and gives them the choice.

    Well, thank you!

I know sooner or later (if the thread takes off) the "I Love Everyone" moment might show up here! I didn't include it because it felt a little contrived.

I like seeing Wonder Woman shows empathy for her enemies/opponents instead of simply physically fighting them until they're defeated.

The moment in New 52 No. 15 when she stopped fighting Siracca as an enemy and embraced Siracca as her sister was a very "Wonder Woman" moment to me.

I'm pretty sure there are quite a few other examples of Wonder Woman trying to resolve "fights" without using her fists (or at least only using her fists as a last resort).

I have to say I really like that scene, for two reasons:
    A) Obviously because Darkseid, so assured that he's considered the winner based on figures and his own conditions, gets caught off guard that Diana doesn't see herself as having lost anything she wouldn't give away freely. And ofc how she hopes that little piece of her will actually mellow him, something that would be utterly horrifying to Darkseid
    B) I thought it's a nice little nod that the writer let Raven sneak that fragment into Darkseid and him being completely unaware of it before Diana actually tells him it is there (I dont know how many has actually something like that).

That said, as much as I normally fault Simone's run for a number of other things, I think she got the essence of Wonder Woman exactly right in this scene:

Azzarello's run: helping Hades after everything he did to her. Gender politics + kindness + altruism + forgiveness? That's as WW as it gets.

Rucka's run: asking Athena to revive the kid instead of giving her her eyesight back.
