I really love the way Fabok draws Batman, especially his costume. You can really feel the weight and texture of everything, like you can tell he's wearing a costume instead of something that looks painted on.

Agreed El Sombrero. I also like how his Batman has a little "Frank Miller" bulk to him, too.

I hope that MerryMaker isn't Merydeth. Too cliché.

    But Merideth died, didn't he?

Anyway, look at that Scott Snyder, a first page without a dozen monologue boxes!

That's a great looking preview. MerryMaker already seems like an interesting new villain to me. I love Jason Fabok on this book. I really like his art so much. His layouts, to his figures, to his action scenes I think are done really well.

Fabok's art keeps getting better and better. Unfortunately Layman doesn't work for me. His villains are great but I think his Batman is a little off and his Damian is terrible. I'll give him another chance with #19.

Yeah, I was thinking during this preview, "Okay, so we have this clearly arrogant and crazy psychiatrist fixated on The Joker, who 'dies' in mysterious circumstances, and then we're introduced to the new villain, Merrymaker. ...Gee, I wonder who THAT could be!"

That said, I won't mind if that is who it is, since unlike something like Hush, I'm sure it's going to be something that will be revealed and dealt with quickly in this issue.

that art is well illustrated, but blah, there is ZERO storytelling or sequential progression, panel to panel. Quite frankly, its a sterile, boring read.
