Default Which New Series Are You Most Looking Forward To?

So it's a new year, and new month, so with them comes all new comics! There's some great new looking stuff from Hickman, Miller, McCann...

So which are you most looking forward to and why?

For me, East of West by Hickman and Dragotta is the one I'm looking forward to the most. The creative team is great, but most of all the story looks really promising. I'm a big fan of apocalyptic stories and the Four Horseman concept has me interested.

None of the above I guess... I only barely recognize some of those titles. I guess the new titles I'm looking forward to are non-Image right now.
Image: 9 titles IDW: 2 titles Dynamite: 1 title Red 5: 1 title
Valiant: 2 titles Marvel: 2 titles Avatar: 1 title Vertigo: 1 title

Many of these are begging my wallet to open :)

Hickman gets my first dollar, though! :)

Since Sex is on there, might as well also mention Sex Criminals also hitting this year by by Matt Fraction. It's "An ongoing comic series that puts the comic back in comics, and the sexy back into sex crime". Sounds interesting.

Seconding Ravine, also looking forward to Aphrodite IX.

Out of the list, Five Weapons! But also looking forward to Dia De La Muertas by Riley Rossmo and several writers, and very excited for Mice Templar to start releasing their final arc.

Woah, what's this now? I had no idea this was coming out. Greg Rucka is just excellent.

Looks like I'll have to drop some superhero hoo-hah and buy this, as I can't justify adding yet another title.

I should've mentioned that you didn't have to pick from the list. But, really, it's any Image Comic you're looking forward to that's starting up this year.

And yeah, I can't believe I forgot that Matt Fraction has the Sex Criminals series coming out. There's another one I'll heavily consider.

Definitely Ravine, it's something different to what I usually read in comics. I've already preordered from my LCS. I've been dropping more superhero comics lately, because these Image Comics all have really interesting concepts that I'd love to read and try out. They're all something new and creative, which is great. There's something for everyone, almost!

I'm excited for Greg Rucka's Lazarus the most, with Robert Hickman's East of West as a close second.

Other - Lazarus by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark.

P.S. Thanks for the Rucka quote in your link, Libaax.

But what I'm most looking forward to from Image is the trade of this miniseries (hopefully to be continued):

East of West, but I anticipate trying several of these. Looks like another great year ahead for Image.
American Vampire, Atomic Robo, Chew, Fatale, Hoax Hunters, Manhattan Projects, Revival, Saga, The Sixth Gun, The Walking Dead

East Of West, Sex, Lost Vegas, & Snapshot. Maybe Chin Music, too.

For the non-listed: Satellite Sam, Lazarus, Sex Criminals, Pretty Deadly, The Saviors, Three, and Reign.

Let's start from the top and go down:

East of West by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta

Heck no. I have yet to read anything by Hickman that makes me believe this could be good (Avengers, M.P., New Avengers). His stuff is just so dull and unrewarding!

Five Ghosts by Frank Babiere and Chris Mooneyham

Eh... I'm not feeling it, especially from the previews.

Lost Vegas by Jim McCann and Janet Lee

    See Five Ghosts.

Sex by Joe Casey and Piotr Kowalski

I'll check out the first issue, but I doubt it will be good. One simple miss and this whole comic can come crumbling down on top of itself with this silly premise.

    Five Weapons by Jimmie Robinson

Looks like it could be fun (kind of a manga), though I'm not familiar with this writer/artist at all. As long as I like the characters, I could probably follow this.

Snapshot by Andy Diggle and Jock

Probably the one I am looking most forward to with a premise I like and an artist that is pretty awesome. Not sure about the writer though...

Chin Music by Steve Niles and Tony Harris

Eh... I am not that intereted in the writer, so probably not.

Jupiter's Legacy by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely

Well let's see here. It has Mark Millar, who has completely lost me since Kick-Ass 2. It has Frank Quitely, an artist I REALLY don't care for at all. And then there is a premise that doesn't sound interesting to me. So, three strikes and this comic is so out of here. Not a chance in hell I'm reading this one.

So, ulimately, I am looking forward to Snapshot the most and possibly Five Weapons. Shame that Image as so little to offer me.
