Default (Spoilers) FF and Superior Spider-Man question...

...so "Future Human Torch" shows up in the newest issue of FF and is verified after a Wyatt Wingfoot interrogation (great scene BTW).

My question is: Why wouldn't they get Peter Parker (aka Dr Spiderpus) to grill "Future-Johnny". They're best friends and his Spider-Sense might help expose any evidence of fraud.

I'm curious if editorial made Dr Spiderpus off limits for FF because of any knowledge "Future-Johnny" has of Peter's predicament? Thoughts?

Maybe because they don't want FF readers to be turned off by the mess in Spider-Man.

    Too complicated.
Primary pulls: X-Factor, Hawkeye, Young Avengers, Avengers Arena, X-Men: Legacy, Uncanny X-Force, FF, Archer and Armstrong

Maybe he wasn't available. It also depends on when this is taking place. If it's taking place after Spiderpus' get's found out, he'd be low on the list of calls.

Frankly, I wouldn't want the Spidey Sense to be used in that way.

The only way I want Spiderpus interacting with the FF is the FF going, "AHA! We know you're not the real Spidey!" then he's thrown in a jail.

    That would be awkward.

For one thing, the Superior Spider-Man situation is a relatively new thing and you can't expect FF readers to be up-to-speed on it.

For another thing, the scene would have become more about characterizing New Spidey in relation to Old Spidey - throwing in-text discrepancies in Spidey's behavior to see whether FF readers would notice, and to establish whether FF characters notice the switch - than about trying to check for discrepancies in Johnny's behavior.

You don't want your book to be co-opted by an examination of events in other, more popular books, is what I'm saying.

Would the FF think of that? Spiderman is not tight with any of them. Honestly calling Dr. Strnage might occur to them first or maybe one of the Inhummans if there is a telepath among them.

I'm thinking FF has to be set after the change. Whether the FF member would be aware of that, I'm not sure, but the "not available" excuse is what I always default to.
