Was Peter Parker ever an ordinary guy to begin with? Besides that, whose to say the such a revelation has to occur in the current time frame? To have Peter Parker stuck in one ideal situation without expanding his possible family tree would result of having the same stories repeated over and over again. While there are those who simply want Peter Parker to just say in his world, I wouldn't mind seeing a few off the wall stuff that would keep the readers wanting more and could lead to a C-list character becoming an A-list one down the road. Especially in the case of Taskmaster who could be related to Peter's mother and could provide a flashback story into that possible history. Since Stan Lee had mentioned that Peter's parents worked for the CIA, why should a writer who is interested in exploring that possible story be block from doing so?

Oh, Darthfury, don't stop being you. Your bat-shit insane theories about the geneaology of the MU brings a smile to my face.

Peter Parker felt like an ordinary guy.

I have no problem with writers introducing new relatives for Peter Parker. It can be an opportunity to create new characters. But creating links to existing characters stretches credibility. Instead of being a guy who was bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker becomes the nephew of an Avengers foe who was bitten by a radioactive spider.

True. But it depends on how the writer approach this situation regarding the Taskmaster as he lost his original memories, which could be a new area to explore in connection to Peter's mother. And wasn't Mystique an existing character in the 1980's when Marvel felt that Nightcrawler having a mother who is an X-Men foe stretches his credibility? It might be interesting if a least one or two existing characters(anti-heroes or foes) who are relatives of Spider-Man because it might bring interest to those characters from Spidey's fan base.

What could be more likely is that the Taskmasters identity is an alias, and that he's really Richard Parker, Peters father, and that makes Taskys minder,( his wife), Peters mother. I wouldn't be averse to that idea because it hides these two SHIELD agents in plain sight, and we didn't know it. There may be some tragic reason why Tasky and his wife had to become anonymous the way they are, And relinquish their heritage as Parker's. Maybe it has something to do with Mephisto as well, but it wouldn't take a lot to explain away why they were imbedded the way they were, especially when dealing with amnesia. And it needn't be Taskmaster either. It could be any SHIELD couple in the MU, that has floated in and out of continuity at various times, and made to fit the shoes of the Parker's.

Are you serious? I honestly can't tell if you're kidding or not, but this might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

The same applies to all of the Marvel characters. Besides, Peter hasn't been in High School since the 1960's comic book era. They had the chance to make Alpha into a character that the readers could have related to at Peter's old high school. But the opposite occurred instead, along with Anya Corazon(Provided if Marvel had just kept her as Araņa instead of Spider-Girl). Even the X-Men started out as bunch of kids who had everyday problems like Peter Parker. But right now the X-Men world is a total mess.

Also, I don't believe that I will ever write a fanfiction on my ideas. But if I ever get a chance to work at Marvel as an Assistant Editor, I'll just talk to the writers who are interested in doing a creative project that could incorporate some of my ideas.

None of these ideas would happen to involve a giant mechanical spider, would they?
