1) Find a bad guy
2) Be Wolverine
Bring Back Ultimate Wolverine...again!
The Why: Because Marvel wants to make money. That's really all there is too it. They saw that the Avengers movie was doing good and they copied it. It really has nothing to do with wanting to copy the Ultimate Universe or else they would have made a black Nick Fury in the 616 long ago. And because they didn't until now shows that they are really just doing anything to make money. Personally I think the 616 has completely run out of ideas and that's not to say the Ultimate Universe has run out of ideas as well because it really has but Marvel really needs to get there act together.
Don't forget to pre order Nick Fury White by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale.
Seriously though, there's no reason for alarm. They didn't kill the old Nick Fury, so I'm sure his popularity among fans will result in frequent appearances all over the place just like before. Right now, anyone who needs their Fury fix should read Fury Max.. It's really good

You know what's funny is that this would have been the perfect time to bring the 616 nick fury into the UU. I mean if there not going to use the guy in the 616 and if no one cares about him in that universe to let him join any team then why not. 616 and ultimate nick fury would have made a great storyline especially if they were going to battle each other.

This thread is the perfect example of how contrived and convoluted the Marvel U. has become. I mean, can anybody say with any surety what has and has not happened in Peter Parker's life after the OMD storyline? Marvel needs a reboot bad. Then, if they want to make Peter Parker black/hispanic, that's cool. If they want to make Nick Fury Samuel L. Jackson, that's cool. If they want to make Captain America gay, that would be cool too. But it needs to make sense and it needs to be consistent. When you can't tell who is who and when was when without graphs and intricately annotated flow charts, then your "continuity" is borked and needs to be cast aside. Either that or just cast continuity aside and let each title and/or corner of the Marvel U. stand on it's own without being interconnected to the rest (which I would be fine with too). But until they fix it (and get rid of their "architects" and change their editorial team) I'm not making mine Marvel.
