"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" has signed "Revenge" actress as the female lead, presumably in the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Sharon Carter. The Marvel Studios sequel opens April 4, 2014.

Tough to top Hayley Atwell, she rocked in the first one. I haven't seen Emily before, hopefully she's got pizazz. Still is funny that Cap is getting with his love interest's niece, ha but hey why not.

Vancamp certainly has the "chick with a 'tude" act down pat, as seen in "Revenge."
Not sure if that's a good thing for this movie; dunno how versatile she is as an actress.

I dislike this a lot. I consider her very unattractive, and while I'm sure I wouldn't mind her in the film in some sort of supporting or villainous role, I'm quite certain that I won't be able to believe in her as Sharon Carter, Steve's love interest. Ugh.

I've never seen "Revenge" but this woman definitely has the look to pull of Sharon Carter. I'm a bit concerned that none of the reports I've seen about casting this role mention the character by name. It's always "the female lead". I wonder if that means that the character will not be Sharon. Perhaps disney thinks it is weird for Cap to fall for the niece of his old love interest... In any case, I hope my hunch is wrong. Sharon is a great character, and deserves her rightful place in this story.

I want to see official but she's one of (If not) my favourite actresses and she really is brilliant.

I am hoping the female lead for the movie is Carol Danvers or a new Shield agent character rather than Sharon Carter. There's a weirdness factor with Cap romancing Peggy's niece.

I think Batmanda would be great as Sharon, if indeed she will be playing Sharon. She kicks ass (literally) on Revenge.

That's an OK choice, she reminds me a lot of her "aunt" that was in WWII. I would have prefered a natural blond but still...i'm OK with it.
